Class 7A Top 10

1. St. Thomas Aquinas, 1-0, 1
Comment: Easily handled an undersized 4A Booker T. Washington team on national television.

2. Oakleaf, 1-0, 2
Comment: Not the most impressive win, but it was a shutout over 5A Westside.

3. Lakeland, 1-0, 3
Comment: Dreadnaughts easily handle 6A Ed White at home.

4. Dwyer, 1-0, 4
Comment: Blew out 6A Boynton Beach to open the season.

5. Braden River, 1-0, 5
Comment: Took care of business easily against 5A Bayshore, inducing a shutout in Week 1.

6. Venice, 1-0, 8
Comment: Made statement with huge road victory against Stephenville, TX

7. First Coast, 0-0, 7
Comment: Game was canceled against Ind. Arlington County Day, but will face 6A Gainesville this week.

8. Plant, 0-1, 6
Comment: Tough loss for the Panthers on the road against a much more-loaded Colquitt County, GA team.

9. South Fort Myers, 1-0, 9
Comment: A couple of suspensions for South Fort Myers weren’t noticeable in roll over of 6A Island Coast.

10. Columbia, 1-0, NR
Comment: Of all the teams that could have slotted in at No. 10, Columbia was the best choice after rolling by 6A Gainesville as well as looking at the schedule ahead.

Dropped Out: East Lake, 0-1, 9 – Getting upset at home by an 8A Palm Harbor University team that won one game by just one point last year was an unacceptable start to consider keeping East Lake around in the Top 10 rankings.
