We have come up with a new way to get the information that we wan to give to our Premium Subscribers in a much quicker and easier to read version. Welcome to Quick Hitters, giving you a quick rankings run down for each and the top five games. We might also include a few tidbits on what is going in the region as well depending on what it is about.

Here is this week’s Quick Hitters for the First Coast Region for Week 3.

Top 10 Rankings

1. Trinity Christian-Jacksonville, 2-0
2. Oakleaf, 2-0
3. Bolles, 2-0
4. Raines, 2-0
5. St. Augustine, 2-0
6. Clay, 1-1
7. Bartram Trail, 1-1
8. Sandalwood, 2-0
9. University Christian, 2-0
10. Mandarin, 2-0

Dropped out: No. 10 First Coast, 0-1

Top 5 Games

No. 8 Sandalwood (2-0) at Atlantic Coast (1-1): Saints are on a roll and looking to remain undefeated, while Stingrays are coming off a nice win over Bishop Kenny and looking to pull a big upset.

Lakewood (2-0) at No. 3 Bolles (2-0): Every week Bolles continues to play against some of the state’s best teams, this week it’s a Lakewood team that usually finds itself about three rounds deep in the playoffs. Two years ago, a loss to Clay in the state semifinals in the closing minutes prevented the Spartans from playing for a state title.

Englewood (2-0) at Robert E. Lee (1-1): Not sure how really good Englewood really is but a win over an upcoming Lee team may give us a good indication.

Fletcher (1-1) at Providence (1-1): Fletcher rebounded from a stunning loss to Sandalwood to hold off Parker now the assignment is to try to stop Jamauri Wakefield, who ran for over 2500 yards and 37 touchdowns last season.

No. 1 Trinity Christian (2-0) at No. 9 University Christian (2-0): Game of the Week, at least on paper. However, this one has mismatch written all over as Trinity has eight in a row in the series since 2004 and outscored UC 315-73, including 42-12 last season.
