MIAMI – The Belen Jesuit Wolverines will take flight during the 2016 season, heading to Ireland to play in a high school football game against an unannounced potential opponent from the United States or Mexico.
The game, which is scheduled take place the day prior to the Aer Lingus College Football Classic between Georgia Tech and Boston College, will grant the Wolverines a chance to make history in Florida and nationally.
The events leading up to the scheduled games will allow teams to take part of the festivities while also providing each team a cultural educational experience. Festivities planned include a traditional American Prep Rally and Parade in Ireland’s capital as part of the experience.

That date would involved the Wolverines Week 2 game for the 2016 season. That game would replace Seminole Ridge on the schedule who the Wolverines played earlier in the season.
In a press release sent out by Irish American Events Limited, the organizer of the of the events, Belen Jesuit Head Coach Rick Stuart said “The entire Belen Jesuit community is really looking forward to our trip to Dublin.
“High school football is an extension of the classroom and there is no better way for our student athletes to learn and experience another culture. Playing, sightseeing, doing a community service project and mixing with the wonderful people of Ireland will create memories for our students that will last a lifetime,” Stuart said.
Opponents for the teams participating in the event will be announced in the coming weeks as more teams are finalized. Several other teams from Florida have been mentioned as possible participants in the event have not been confirmed or denied at this time.
