Here are the latest FloridaHSFootball.com Girls Flag Football Class 2A rankings following the first week of regular season games.

Current ranking, followed by team record and previous ranking

1. Alonso (Tampa), 0-0, 1
Notable Wins: None
The Buzz: The Ravens will hit the field this week after being off for spring break in Hillsborough County and will immediately take on #10 Bloomingdale out of the gate on Tuesday.

2. Plant (Tampa), 0-0, 2
Notable Wins: None
The Buzz: As like Alonso, the Panthers were off this past week for spring break and will get things running with a busy slate with Plant City, Freedom (Tampa) and three games at the Bloomingdale Tournament in Valrico.

3. Seminole Ridge (Loxahatchee), 2-0, 3
Notable Wins: None
The Buzz: We got to admit we might have goofed on Seminole Ridge and the two wins this past week over 1A Pahokee and Palm Beach Central (Wellington) were a good start to the season, but they are not as notable as what later games on the schedule could be for the Hawks.

4. Apopka, 0-0, 4
Notable Wins: None
The Buzz: The Blue Darters didn’t have a scheduled game this past week despite Orange County being in session. They won’t get their first game in until after spring break is completed this week.

5. Dwyer (Palm Beach Gardens), 0-0, 5
Notable Wins: None
The Buzz: Dwyer’s scheduled game this past week against Jupiter has been moved to the back of the district schedule for next month. With that, the Panthers won’t see the field until after spring break is over this week.

6. Martin County (Stuart), 0-0, 6
Notable Wins: None
The Buzz: The Tigers will hit the field this week after having this past week off for spring break with games against South Fork and Okeechobee.

7. Park Vista (Lake Worth), 1-0, 7
Notable Wins: Lake Worth
The Buzz: With a big win over previously-ranked Lake Worth, the Lady Cobras are in business. However, this ranking could change next week depending if we are told there is a result for the scheduled game against West Boca Raton. They will see the field again next week after spring break is completed this week.

8. Hialeah, 1-0, 8
Notable Wins: None
The Buzz: As the defending Region 4 champions in Class 2A, the Thoroughbreds are so far making good in being the best team from Miami-Dade County in the classification. They will take on Mater Academy and American in key district games this coming week.

9. Bloomingdale (Valrico), 0-0, 10
Notable Wins: None
The Buzz: Although the Bulls were on spring break this past week, they move up one thanks to Miami High’s 27-0 shutout loss to the hands of district rival Coral Gables. A full slate is on tap this week with matchups against No. 1 Alonso, Riverview and three games as the host of the Bloomingdale Tournament in Valrico.

10. Dr. Phillips (Orlando), 2-0, 14
Notable Wins: Boone
The Buzz: The Panthers slip into the Top 10 after starting off the season with wins over district rivals, Boone, and Timber Creek. The Panthers will return to the field next week after spring break concludes for Orange County.

The Next 10
11. St. Cloud, 0-0, 12
12. Western (Davie), 1-0, 13
13. Fleming Island (Orange Park), 1-0, 15
14. Everglades (Miramar), 1-1, 11
15. Piper (Sunrise), 1-0, 17
16. Miami High, 0-1, 9
17. Osceola (Kissimmee), 0-0, 18
18. Seminole (Seminole), 0-0, 19
19. East Bay (Gibsonton), 0-0, NR
