While some teams have already claimed a district championship, a lot more teams can add to the list in Class 5A through Class 8A and lock up playoff spots for next month. Here is a look at where things stand right now in Class 6A as we head into Week 9.

Records show are district standings only, not overall records.

DISTRICT 6A-1

Gulf Breeze, 2-0
Pine Forest, 2-0
Booker T. Washington (Pensacola), 2-1
Escambia, 0-2
Milton, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Things are simple here for Gulf Breeze – you win on Friday night you win the district and lock a spot up in the playoffs. However, if Pine Forest wins, they will have to wait until next week to get a win over Booker T. Washington before they can celebrate a district championship. Now if we talk about a Pine Forest win here this week, the scenarios get really interesting for Week 10.

DISTRICT 6A-2

Mosley, 3-0 – CLINCHED
Lincoln, 1-1
Rickards, 1-1
Choctawhatchee, 1-2
Fort Walton Beach, 0-2

OUTLOOK: Mosley has already clinched the district championship regardless of what the result is Friday night against Fort Walton Beach.

DISTRICT 6A-3

Columbia, 4-0 – CLINCHED
Riverside, 2-1
Englewood, 1-2
Orange Park, 0-2
Westside, 0-2

OUTLOOK: Columbia clinched the district last week with a win over Orange Park and has completed all their district games for the season.

DISTRICT 6A-4

St. Augustine, 2-0
Gainesville, 2-0
Middleburg, 1-2
Matanzas, 1-2
Ridgeview, 0-2

OUTLOOK: If both St. Augustine and Gainesville both win their respective games with Matanzas and Ridgeview on Friday night, both will face off against each other for the district championship next week. However, the same situation could apply if either or both teams lose this week as well.

DISTRICT 6A-5

Belleview, 2-0
Vanguard, 1-0
Springstead, 0-1
Lecanto, 0-2

OUTLOOK: For Belleview, a huge win over Vanguard on Friday night will secure a district championship for the Rattlers. However, if Vanguard wins, they might have to wait until next week before they claim the district championship – that is if Springstead beats Lecanto. However, if Lecanto wins and Vanguard wins, then Vanguard will be able to claim the district championship.

DISTRICT 6A-6

Jones, 3-0
Lake Minneola, 2-1
Mainland, 1-1
New Smyrna Beach, 1-2
South Lake, 0-3

OUTLOOK: The goal is simple for either Jones or Lake Minneola on Friday night – win and you are the district champion and lock a berth into the playoffs. It is simple as that for District 6A-6.

DISTRICT 6A-7

Auburndale, 3-0
Lake Wales, 1-1
Heritage (Palm Bay), 1-1
Eau Gallie, 1-1
Gateway (Kissimmee), 0-3

OUTLOOK: All Auburndale must do this week pretty much is get a win against Eau Gallie and will clinch the district championship outright along with a playoff berth. However, a loss to Eau Gallie will set up some interesting scenarios for Week 10.

DISTRICT 6A-8

Port St. Lucie, 1-0
South Fork, 1-0
Suncoast, 0-1
Okeechobee, 0-1

OUTLOOK: If both Port St. Lucie and South Fork win their respective games over Suncoast and Okeechobee this week, both teams will meet next week with a district championship on the line. However, if things go differently, we could be looking at some different scenarios for Week 10.

DISTRICT 6A-9

Countryside, 2-0
River Ridge, 2-1
Sunlake, 2-1
Fivay, 0-2
Freedom (Tampa), 0-2

OUTLOOK: If Countryside takes care of business against Sunlake this week, they will be able to clinch a playoff berth and the district championship. However, if they drop this game to Sunlake, there will be some interesting scenarios for the final week of district play next week.

DISTRICT 6A-10

Jesuit, 2-0
Hillsborough, 2-1
King, 1-1
Jefferson, 1-2
Blake, 0-2

OUTLOOK: Jesuit can claim the district crown this week with a win over Blake and a King loss to Hillsborough. However, if King defeats Hillsborough while Jesuit wins, the Tigers will have to wait until next week to officially claim the district championship.

DISTRICT 6A-11

Boca Ciega, 3-0
Pinellas Park, 3-1
Northeast (St. Petersburg), 2-1
Hollins, 1-2
Seminole (Seminole), 1-2
St. Petersburg, 0-4

OUTLOOK: Boca Ciega cannot clinch the district championship this week but adding a win to the total this week with a victory over Seminole will help set them up for a huge matchup with Pinellas Park next week. And with that said, that will also provide some interesting scenarios for next week as well.

DISTRICT 6A-12

Sumner, 3-0
Braden River, 2-0
Southeast, 1-2
Brandon, 0-2
Spoto, 0-2

OUTLOOK: The goal is simple for second-year Sumner or for the more experienced Braden River – win on Friday night and you are head to the playoffs as a district champion.

DISTRICT 6A-13

Dunbar, 3-0
Fort Myers, 2-1
Charlotte, 2-1
Ida Baker, 1-2
North Fort Myers, 1-2
Cape Coral, 0-3

OUTLOOK: The goal this week is very simple for Dunbar – WIN. If they win, they are headed to the playoffs as a district champion. Can’t make this any simpler than that.

DISTRICT 6A-14

Naples, 3-0
South Fort Myers, 3-0
Lely, 1-2
Barron Collier, 1-2
Golden Gate, 1-2
East Lee County, 1-2

OUTLOOK: The district championship is on the line for both Naples and South Fort Myers this week. If either team wins, they are heading to the playoffs as a district champion. There is no other scenario than this one, this week.

DISTRICT 6A-15

Coconut Creek, 2-0
Plantation, 2-1
Boyd Anderson, 1-1
Hollywood Hills, 1-1
Northeast (Oakland Park), 0-2

OUTLOOK: The goal is very simple this week for Coconut Creek – defeat Boyd Anderson and a playoff berth and a district championship will all be locked in for the Cougars. However, if Coconut Creek does drop this game, it will open up some very interesting scenarios for Week 10.

DISTRICT 6A-16

Miami Northwestern, 3-0 – CLINCHED
Miami Norland, 2-1
Belen Jesuit, 1-2
South Miami, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Miami Northwestern clinched the district championship and a playoff berth last week when the Bulls defeated South Miami.
