10 weeks are in the books for the 2021 Florida high school football season and the FHSAA has released their latest look at the RPI football playoff rankings as we head into the final week of the regular season. As such this is going to be our last RPI breakdown for the 2021 season.

As such, this update provides the entire state a glimpse of what the potential playoff matchups could be looking like come the second week of November, but remember things change, as we still have three weeks worth of games (including this week) to go, however, the playoff picture has become much clearer with some teams already done for the regular season and other teams having one game remaining.

In Classes 5A-8A, district record was taken into consideration except on certain exceptions which are noted.

For Class 8A, you will find a breakdown of RPI rankings for each team in every region and a projected seeding (including tiebreakers) based upon the guidelines as published by the FHSAA (click here to view), as well as quick thoughts about each region.

REGION 1

Rank Team Record RPI
1 Seminole (Sanford) 9-1 0.730
2 Bartram Trail 8-1 0.707
3 Lake Mary 8-1 0.704
4 Apopka 7-2 0.645
5 Creekside 7-2 0.622
6 Timber Creek 7-2 0.614
7 Winter Park 6-3 0.601
8 Lake Brantley 5-4 0.563
9 DeLand 3-4 0.552
10 Oviedo 5-4 0.552
11 Ocoee 6-3 0.550
12 Flagler Palm Coast 4-4 0.549
13 Mandarin 4-5 0.532
14 Oakleaf 4-5 0.503
15 Hagerty 5-4 0.494
16 Sandalwood 3-6 0.486
17 West Port 1-8 0.426
18 Colonial 3-6 0.407
19 Evans 2-7 0.400
20 University (Orlando) 2-7 0.393

PROJECTED DISTRICT CHAMPS
This is based on current district standings and taking the highest-rated team among the district standings if they have won district games. Should a district not have any district games played as of yet, the highest-rated team will be mythically slotted in as a district champion for projection purposes only. Teams highlighted in red have officially clinched their district championship.

8A-1: Bartram Trail – No. 2
8A-2: Seminole (Sanford) – No. 1
8A-3: Apopka – No. 3

QUICK THOUGHTS: In a stunning turn of events last week Timber Creek clinched district 8A-4 and jumped up from the No. 7 seed to the No. 4 seed. With all that said, Winter Park now falls into the No. 7 and that is the only notable change for the at-large berths.
