Week 3 is officially in the books, and the Panhandle Region delivered more incredible performances here in the early stages of the 2025 season. From game-changing plays to dominating stat lines, athletes all across the region made their mark on opening week.
After reviewing box scores and standout highlights, we narrowed the field down to 10 finalists for the second The Blitz – Panhandle Florida Football Player of the Week award. We also spotlighted a few more athletes who were strongly considered.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – WEEK 2
QB JD Brown, South Walton
Orchestrated the Seahawks’ offense by completing 22 of 35 passes for 241 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding 43 rushing yards in the 29–16 win over Fort Walton Beach.
WEEK 3 NOMINEES
QB Justice Baldwin, Baker
Completed a perfect 6 of 6 passes for 244 yards and 4 touchdowns, plus rushed 3 times for 48 yards and 1 TD, and converted 2 two-point conversions in the 41-6 victory over Central (Milton).
QB Beau Beshears, Maclay
Completed 23 of 34 passes for 336 yards and 3 touchdowns while adding a rushing score in a 33–7 win over Marianna.
ATH Na’Quez Christian, Madison County
Exploded for 149 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground while adding a 15-yard touchdown catch, finishing with 164 total yards in a 49-14 win over Suwannee.
QB JP Holsombake, Mosley
Surgically picked apart the defense, completing 20 of 25 passes for 348 yards and 5 touchdowns in the Dolphins’ 55–41 road win over Rickards.
QB Deagan McCoy, Niceville
Completed 12 of 23 passes for 228 yards and 4 touchdowns despite 2 interceptions in the 35-14 win over Pine Forest.
RB Julius Miles, Freeport
Rushed for 4 yards and 2 touchdowns, added 186 receiving yards and 2 receiving TDs, powering Freeport’s 48–43 victory.
DE Ja’Micheal Miller, Franklin County
Dominated defensively with 7 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks while adding a two-point conversion in the 35–0 shutout of FAMU DRS.
QB Brooks Warmack, Leon
Threw for 177 yards and 6 touchdowns in a dominant 55–0 win over Jefferson County.
WR Elijah West, Tate
Exploded for 4 catches, 142 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a 91-yard scoring bomb in the 41-0 shutout victory over Pensacola.
RB Makael Williams, Pace
Exploded for 12 carries, 203 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns, including a 51-yard long run in the 59-6 blowout victory over Gulf Breeze.
