Week 3 is officially in the books, and the Southwest Florida Region delivered more incredible performances here in the early stages of the 2025 season. From game-changing plays to dominating stat lines, athletes all across the region made their mark on opening week.

After reviewing box scores and standout highlights, we narrowed the field down to 10 finalists for the second The Blitz – Southwest Florida Football Player of the Week award. We also spotlighted a few more athletes who were strongly considered.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – WEEK 2

QB Austin Hill, Southwest Florida Christian

Completed 15 of 25 passes for 341 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing for 19 yards as the King’s cruised past Palmetto Ridge 49–14.

WEEK 3 NOMINEES

RB Damarcus Brown, Lake Placid

Had 231 yards rushing on 17 carries and scored three touchdowns for the Green Dragons in their 55-30 victory over Discovery.

DE Jadell Carter, South Fort Myers

Racked up four sacks to go along with a whopping 14 tackles and four tackles for loss for the Wolfpack in their 56-14 thumping over Barron Collier.

DE Asharri Charles, Venice

Recorded four sacks along with eight total tackles and five tackles for loss for the Indians in their 27-12 victory over Bishop Verot.

DB Andre Ferdinand, Naples

Recorded two interceptions and four tackles for the Golden Eagles in their 56-26 win over Immokalee.

QB Logan Flaherty, Port Charlotte

Went 11-of-19 passing for 144 yards passing and four touchdowns for the Pirates in their 49-13 win over Lehigh.

QB Peyton Frontinio, St. John Neumann

Threw for 213 yards and 4 TDs and had 70 yards rushing for the Celtics in their 38-0 victory over Coral Springs Charter.

QB Jaydon Henderson, Cypress Lake

The sophomore quarterback threw for 201 yards on 16 of 32 passing completion and was responsible for all three touchdowns in the Panthers 20-7 upset victory over Fort Myers.

QB Parker Nippert, Riverview (Sarasota)

Went 10 of 14 passing for 255 yards and three touchdowns in the Rams’ 38-35 victory over Palmetto.

DE Zackery Samuel Jr., Cardinal Mooney

Recorded six tackles along with two sacks and three tackles for loss in the Cougars’ 39-3 thumping of Rockledge.

QB Hudson West, Sarasota

Went 22 of 35 passing for 326 yards and five touchdowns in the Sailors’ 47-20 victory over North Port.
