BOCA RATON, Fla. — Aubrey Fogel threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns, and Avaree Brant had a standout performance on both sides of the ball as No. 3 Seminole Ridge defeated Spanish River 31-14 Thursday evening in Boca Raton.
Brant hauled in seven catches for 71 yards and two receiving touchdowns, then added a pick-six on defense to account for three of the Hawks’ five touchdowns on the night. Jazlyn Ruiz and Ava Aiken each caught a touchdown pass as well, giving Seminole Ridge a balanced offensive attack.
Fogel completed 20-of-24 passes for 205 yards and two scores before giving way to Maeson Frost, who completed 6-of-12 for 23 yards. Frost also handled PAT duties, converting one attempt on the night.
Ruiz was Fogel’s top target, finishing with six receptions for 34 yards. Ja’Niah Tejeda added four catches for 41 yards, while Carrie Didio contributed two receptions for 51 yards.
Seminole Ridge’s defense was dominant, intercepting six passes on the night. Tejeda and Chachi Saunders each recorded two interceptions, while Ava Dowdell added another with a 40-yard return. Brant’s pick-six rounded out the takeaway total.
Spanish River scored both of its touchdowns in the first quarter but was held scoreless the rest of the way as Seminole Ridge pulled away. The Hawks improve to 1-0 on the season, while Spanish River falls to 1-1.
