STARKE | Derek Chipoletti who has been the coach at Starke Bradford for the past two seasons resigned earlier Thursday to take the same position at Orange Park Oakleaf, the Bradford County Telegraph confirmed today.
Chipoletti who has worked many years with his father Neal at schools like Fleming Island and Orange Park, became a head coach for the first time in 2009 when he took the job at Williston. A year later he took the job at Bradford where he led the Tornadoes to 15-7 record in 2 seasons. He also led the team to its first playoff berth in 7 years, which made a lot of fans in the Bradford community happy.
Chipoletti told the Telegraph the biggest thing he will miss about Bradford is the relationships he built with the kids.
“I’m upset,” Chipoletti told the Telegraph, ”that I have to leave such a great group of kids.”
Chipoletti said he his father is likely to remain to at Bradford as the Athletic Director, as far as he knew. Neal Chipoletti joined Bradford the same time as Derek did.
