PENSACOLA | After nearly three plus months of searching out a replacement for former head coach Scott Anderson, the Gators of Penscola Escambia are headed into the final phase of picking a new head coach.
However, this is the second time around, the Pensacola News-Journal reports.
The position was originally opened back in January and the job was offered to teacher and former assistant Derrick Boyd who ended up turning down the offer after having another job opportunity lined up.
The application process was reopened again and that period closed back on February 24, which drew in 24 applicants overall.
Some of the applicants included former Cantonment Tate head coach Ed Rigby and former South Plaquemines, LA head coach Greg Laborde.
