University School’s first game of the season to be broadcast on ESPN

University School has put together a tough schedule for the 2012 season and part of that tough schedule takes them to Trotwood Madison High in Ohio, where ESPN will show the game during its High School Football Kickoff Classic Weekend. You can read more from the Miami Herald by clicking here.

Former Port Charlotte standout signs with Green Bay Packers

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune has reported that former Port Charlotte standout Anthony Hargrove has signed with the Green Bay Packers after playing with the Seattle Seahawks last season. The report indicated that he will primarily be used as an inside pass rusher. Hargrove has had other stops with various NFL teams including the New Orleans Saints, Buffalo Bills and St. Louis Rams. Orlando Timber Creek running back signs with New Mexico Highlands

Timber Creek’s leading rusher from the Class 8A Region I finalist team this past season has finally found his next home to continue his football playing career. The Orlando Sentinel reports that Kyle Snead has signed with New Mexico Highlands, a Division II university in Las Vegas, New Mexico. You can read more by clicking here.

Stetson lands former Jupiter Christian standout

Taking the prep route out of high school sometimes is a move that will pay dividends later. The Palm Beach Post has reported that Ryan Powers has signed a letter of intent to play for the Stetson Hatters. Stetson will be relaunching its football program this fall after a long hiatus spanning over 4 decades. Stetson is located in DeLand and will be competing in the Pioneer League, a Division I FCS conference. You can read more on the signing by clicking here.

Largo Indian Rocks Christian QB commits to Stetson

The Tampa Bay Times has reported that Indian Rocks Christian QB Casey Woods has committed to Stetson. He will sign next week according to the report. Read more by clicking here.
