The Butkus Foundation in conjunction with the National College Football Awards Association released the Butkus Award watch list today as national trophy and awards watch lists continue to be released during the month of July. The Butkus Award is awarded annually to the best linebacker in collegiate football in the country.
The Butkus Award is named in honor of College Football Hall of Fame and Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Dick Butkus, according to the Butkus Award website.
These five Florida HS Football alumni made the watch list and should be commended for their efforts on the field and getting recognized for it.

- Christian Jones / Winter Park Lake Howell / Florida State
- Lerentee McCray / Dunnellon / Florida
