SHOOTOUT MONDAY: Looking at District 7-5A

at
Eustis
Lake Nona
Atlantic (Port Orange)
5-5, 3-2
6-3, 3-2
7-2, 3-2

How did we get here? Atlantic has shown it is becoming a team to not mess with this season once again and has already cooked up a nice overall record, but dropping one district game was expected (against Bishop Moore), but a second to Lake Nona took some by surprise. The Lions of Lake Nona are a year older than last year and some of that is to be credited towards them getting a much needed win to force a tiebreaker game. Eustis, however has been the major surprise in all of this under first year head coach Mike Hay. If Eustis finishing its regular season schedule at 5-5 is an indication of the improvements they have made in one season, Eustis could become a dangerous team in the next few seasons ahead.

Eustis
9/21: Won vs. Lake Nona, 9-7
10/5: Loss to Atlantic (Port Orange), 26-20
10/19: Loss to Bishop Moore, 35-10
10/26: Won vs. Tavares, 51-0
11/2: Won vs. Poinciana, 54-7

Lake Nona
9/21: Loss to Eustis, 9-7
10/5: Won vs. Tavares, 42-7
10/19: Won vs. Poinciana, 59-7
10/26: Loss to Bishop Moore, 27-26
11/2: Won vs. Atlantic (Port Orange), 20-12

Atlantic (Port Orange)
9/20: Loss to Bishop Moore, 35-0
10/5: Won vs. Eustis, 26-20
10/19: Won vs. Tavares, 37-21
10/26: Won vs. Poinciana, 2-0 (FORFEIT)
11/2: Loss to Lake Nona, 20-12

The Quarters: Only two quarters will be played with the winner taking all in this one. Atlantic (Port Orange) is host and thus having the top seed in the shootout.

Quarter 1: Eustis vs. Lake Nona
Quarter 2: Winner of Quarter 1 vs. Atlantic (Port Orange)

Projected Finish: 1. Atlantic, 2. Eustis, 3. Lake Nona
