ALL-STATE FOOTBALL: 2024 Class 5A All-State Football Award Winners

It is time to honor the best of the best among our All-State Honorees with our All-State Awards Selections. With the selections we have five award winners with Overall Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Specialist of the Year, and Coach of the Year.

While it is hard to just pick just one selection. All the athletes and coaches considered for each of the selections are very deserving of the honors.

Without further ado, here are the winners for the 2024 FloridaHSFootball.com All-State Team Awards for Class 5A and congratulations to all our award winners!

CLASS 5A OVERALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR

QB Andrew Indorf, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale), Sr.

Despite losing three games during the season, Indorf was a key leader in leading the Raiders to their sixth consecutive state championship in Florida which extends the new Florida record for most state championship won consecutively by any school. To his credit Indorf went 226-of-328 passing for 2,868 yards, throwing 31 touchdowns in the process. He also accounted for 32 carries for 317 yards rushing and eight more touchdowns giving 39 touchdowns in total in 2024.

CLASS 5A OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

QB Lincoln Graf, Atlantic (Delray Beach), Sr.

Would we have seen Graf in the Class 5A State Championship if were not for the loss to St. Thomas Aquinas in overtime? We think so and when you look at his body of work, it was quite impressive for his senior season, leading the Eagles to the regional finals in Class 5A. For 2024, Graf threw for 3,487 yards and 40 touchdowns on 268-of-364 passing completions. He also had 86 carries for 450 yards and 12 more touchdowns, giving Graf a total of 52 touchdowns he was responsible for in 2024.

CLASS 5A DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

DL Trevor Sommers, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale), Sr.

Want to talk about a menace for opposing offenses, this is what Sommers was and then some. Racking up 55 tackles and 15 tackles for loss during the season, Sommers was also known to put tons of pressure on quarterbacks, racking up 24 quarterback hurries, more than double the next defender for the Raiders while also tied leading in the number of sacks on the team with nine overall. Sommers also blocked one field goal, marking the only blocked field goal by a Raiders defender in 2024.

CLASS 5A SPECIALIST OF THE YEAR

K Nicholas Romero, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale), Sr.

One of the top-rated kickers in the 2025 class, Romero was a special part of the special teams unit (no pun intended). Romero was a perfect 46-of-46 on PATs while converting 10-of-12 field goals with his longest field goal coming from 46 yards. When it comes to kickoffs, he averaged 57.3 yards per kickoff with 23 kickoffs of the 80 kickoffs landing in the end zone as touchbacks.

CLASS 5A COACH OF THE YEAR

Jacquez Green, Manatee (Bradenton)

Sometimes you want to just give the Coach of the Year Award to the coach who won the state championship, but honestly when you look deeper it goes beyond just repeating each year as a state champion. This is where we take a deeper look, and we must look at Jacquez Green at Manatee whose Hurricanes gave everything possible in the state semifinals against St. Thomas Aquinas in a close 16-13 loss. If we go back just a few years ago when Green took over as the Hurricanes head man, things were in a disarray for the storied program and in that time, Green has put Manatee back in the state championship conversation. After getting tested at Lowndes in Week 3, it was in Week 4 that the Hurricanes picked up signature victory against Buchholz (Gainesville), setting up the deep playoff run that ensued.
