WHO: Merritt Island (5A-12) at Heritage (6A-14)
WHEN: Wednesday, May 22
WHERE: Heritage High Stadium, Palm Bay
WHY: Host Heritage High took off to new heights last season quickly putting the newest school in Brevard County on the map. Those heights included its first winning season, its first playoff berth and even its first playoff win. Those heights are allowing the Panthers to ride into spring football looking to continue in that direction. That direction will start with a spring football challenge against the Merritt Island Mustangs who have been long one of the top teams to matchup against in Brevard County. The Mustangs last season, went on a deep playoff run, which is nothing new to fans of the team. However, now both teams will have to use spring practice to see what talent they got to work with and where new talent will emerge to take on bigger roles heading into the fall. Overall, both teams will benefit from playing each other this spring.
