While it has been a quiet few weeks with little changes in terms of coaching changes, that all changed today. Here is a rundown of what is happening.
AUBREY HILL HIRED AT MIAMI CAROL CITY: We reported on this possible change last week through our Twitter account and the Miami Herald confirmed late last night. Hill will take over as the new head coach starting this season. He replaces Harold Barnwell, who has been promoted to the athletic director position at Miami Carol City. Hill who was previously the wide receivers coach at the University of Florida and University of Miami prior to Florida, was seen as the go to guy to lead the Chiefs for 2013.
BUSTER DAVIS OUT AT ADMIRAL FARRAGUT: Both the Tampa Bay Times and Bright House Sports Network confirmed that Buster Davis is out at Admiral Farragut in St. Petersburg after five months on the job. Davis who led the Blue Jackets through spring drills that ended in a spring drubbing by Berkeley Prep was reportedly not on campus this week. The new head coach will inherit a team that went 0-4 and went to the state semifinals in Class 1A before falling to state runner-up Trenton. Newberry’s former head coach, Chris Baker, departed for an assistant coaching job at Tate in Cantonment just north of Pensacola. He wills serve under new head coach Ronnie Douglas
