Expect this list to change one more time right before National Signing Day, which will include information from the 2013 season.
Here are players 111-120 on the Florida HS Football Top 150.
111. QB Nico Pierre | 6’1 | 201 | Coral Reef |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Duke |
Pierre recently vebaled to Duke and is a good fit to put his dual-threat skills to use. With his speed and size he should be able to put Coral Reef at least into playoff contention, if not in the playoffs this seasons. |
112. ATH Trayon Gray | 6’2 | 205 | Miami Carol City |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Miami (FL) |
Miami Carol City is in one of the toughest districts in the country and the Chiefs will be calling upon Trayon Gray to help keep the team in playoff contention like it did last year. With his ability to catch, rush and play cornerback, opposing teams will have to keep an eye on him the entire game. |
113. WR George Rushing | 6’1 | 180 | Cardinal Gibbons |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Louisville |
Rushing made a big impact for the Chiefs last year despite missing the playoffs with a winning record. Look for Rushing to continue his impact as his team’s district now toughens up with the addition of Miami Jackson in the fold for this season. |
114. OLB D’Ronzjiah Matthews | 6’1 | 185 | South Fort Myers |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Undecided |
South Fort Myers is still a young program when comparing to the age of other programs, but the talent that this school keeps producing is amazing. Add Matthews to the list who has been drawing attention this offseason from schools like Miami (FL) all the way to South Carolina. Look for him to have a big season leading the Wolfpack’s defense. |
115. S. Juan Jenkins | 5’11 | 200 | Gainesville |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Undecided |
Jenkins made up a strong defensive backfield for the Hurricanes last season that ran all the way to state before falling to Miami Central in the Class 6A title game. Jenkins is being targeted heavily by over a dozen schools looking to bolster their defense. |
116. WR Will Dawkins | 5’11 | 195 | Vero Beach |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Undecided |
Multitalented Dawkins is a strong reason why Vero Beach will likely continue its playoff streak this season despite having a new challenger in their district with Fort Pierce Central. With the ability to play wide receiver, safety and cornerback, Dawkins will pose a threat on both sides of the ball. Ohio State is really showing a lot of interest right now, according to 247Sports.com |
117. DE Sedrick King | 6’3 | 210 | Plant City |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Central Florida |
King has a great build and is has shown he could be a key part to helping get Plant City back into the playoffs this season. |
118. S D’Cota Dixon | 5’11 | 180 | New Smyrna Beach |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Undecided |
Being recruitied by several major SEC programs, Dixon seems more interested in South Florida and Wisconsin at the moment, both who have been recruiting Dixon heavily. While Dixon primarily play safety do not be surprised to see him rush here and there during the season when needed. |
119. CB Al Harris Jr. | 5’11 | 160 | St. Thomas Aquinas |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: South Carolina |
Harris is just a big part of St. Thomas Aquinas’ outstanding defense that was a huge part in allowing the Raiers to claim a second state title in three years. Look for him to continue making a name for himself this season. |
120. WR Tre’Quan Smith | 6’2 | 175 | Village Academy |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Central Florida |
Smith had over 1,000 yards receiving in 2012 which helped his team make the playoffs for the first time. He will be called upon once again to get over 1,000 as his team’s district will get stronger with Jupiter Christian making a bounce back and an always tough Glades Day team standing in the way. |
