We are counting down the top 150 players in the state as researched, analyzed and complied by FloridaHSFootball.com staff members. While rankings are always subjective and players move up and down the charts, this list is meant to show you the fans who are some of the best players are in the state to keep a solid eye on this season and to see where they might head for their college career. Expect this list to change one more time right before National Signing Day, which will include information from the 2013 season.
Here are players 31-40 on the Florida HS Football Top 150.
31. OT Benjamin Knox | 6’6 | 260 | DeLand |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Florida |
Knox has a strong frame and has the athleticism needed to play at the position. For the Florida Gators to get Knox as a verbal for the 2014 class will help add depth to a position that needs a bit of help. |
32. QB Michael O’Connor | 6’5 | 223 | IMG Academy |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Penn State |
While this will be the only season O’Connor in Florida, he has already shown that he is a pocket passer, something that Penn State hopes to be able to capitalize once he is able to sign in February. O’Connor will lead IMG Academy through its first season, which has already set up a tough schedule despite being an independent. |

A second-team All-Big Bend Area defensive selection, Singleton was one part of the defense that was insturamental in Godby’s Class 5A state championship run. Singleton will be another guy the defense will count on again this year as the Cougars face a tough schedule in hopes to repeat as state champions. |

Harris is a bright spot for a Winter Park team has a big tradition of winning. Winter Park missed the playoffs last year, but with some changes in the district, the Wildcats could have a chance to get back in. The will rely on Harris to that and his abilties to keep opposing offenses at bay this season. |

McBride has exploded as a prospect and he is being counted on helping the offense again in blocking and opening up holes this season in hopes to not only win more games, but to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2010 season. |
36. OLB Delvin Purifoy | 6’2 | 234 | Pensacola Catholic |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Florida State |
Purifoy was a big reason for Pensacola Catholic having a turn around season last year and making the playoffs. With his size and speed Purifoy can do a lot of things that colleges have been looking for in a linebacker. |

Having the speed and hands to make plays, this is a big reason that Brandon Powell can be thrown in to run the ball as a running back, his primary position or as a cornerback. Powell will be a big threat to other teams trying to figure out Deerfield Beach’s stragety this season. |

Gant has been a highly sought after Safety and he showed some of the reason why last season as Lake Gibson went undefeated with a defense that kept opponents from doing much. Gant has a chance this season to top off everything before he prepares to head to Athens. |

One of the most talented players for Booker T. Washington, Harris can either get it down the field to his top receivers pretty quickly or he can burn you by running it out of the pocket and down the sidelines. Harris is going into his third year as a starter and he will likely continue to play quarterback in college. |
