Here are players 41-50 on the Florida HS Football Top 150.
41. OLB Jaboree Williams | 6’1 | 225 | Fort Lauderdale |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Wake Forest |
Williams might be one of the better kept secrets in South Florida as an overall playmaker. His speed and size make him one of the better fits for Wake Forest, but don’t be surprised if his overall play improves and leading to even bigger offers during the season. |
42. CB Nigel Bethel | 5’9 | 173 | Booker T. Washington |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Undecided |
Bethel changed his las name after he turned 18, but that hasn’t changed the style of his playmaking skills that include five interceptions last season. Expect Bethel to get more interceptions this season and the goal of returning the Tornadoes back to state for the third year in a row. |
43. OT Jesse Burkett | 6’5 | 278 | Bartram Trail |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Undecided |
Burkett is the player that is standing out the most for the Bartram Trail program that has had a nice crop of Division I prospects over the last few seasons. Burkett has been one of the strong points for the Bears offensive line where they have allowed only few sacks over the last couple of seasons including a final four run in 2011. |
44. DE Mike Smith | 6’3 | 230 | Miami Northwestern |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Miami (FL) |
Smith is a sacking machine and had 18 sacks overall last season for a Miami Northwestern team that rebounded to make the playoffs after missing them altogether in 2011. Smith will have plenty of chances to show off skills once again with a tough schedule the Bulls have this year. |
45. WR Isaiah Ford | 6’2 | 170 | Trinity Christian (Jacksonville) |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Louisville |
Ford might be light when it comes to a wide receiver, but that has also brought out the best in him as he is able to get in their and has the ability to get the ball when when needed. |
46. RB Madre London | 6’1 | 205 | St. Thomas Aquinas |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Undecided |
London who came to Florida last season after living in Arkansas, London showed off the great running instincts he has along with his size and speed that has him up there on the charts. While London didn’t get over 500 yards rushing last year, things should be different this year. |
47. QB Zack Darlington | 6’2 | 207 | Apopka |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Nebraska |
Darlington has a very strong arm and also has the ability to move out there to get the job done through the air and on the ground. Darlington is being looked up to as the leader for the Blue Darters once again and the chances of Apopka repeating as a champion are pretty high. |
48. ATH Ja’Von Harrison | 6’3 | 190 | Kathleen |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Virginia Tech |
Harrison is an all-around player who can mix it up between both sides of the ball with the ability of playing wide receiver and cornerback. Harrison’s skills could help Kathleen make the playoffs this year in their new Class 7A district. |
49. ILB Andrew Beck | 6’3 | 227 | Plant |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Texas |
Beck can do a lot of a different things from his position as indicated by his stats last season including 126 tackles, 32 for a loss and 6 sacks. Another rare thing is that Texas rarely draws upon for Florida for talent, so Beck being committed to Texas shows just how special he is. |
50. CB De’Eric Culver | 6’0 | 180 | Godby |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Louisville |
Culver will anchor the defensive backfield once again for the defending Class 5A state champions. His abilities keep receivers from going down field has been a huge asset for a team that is facing an even tougher schedule this season. |
