We are counting down the top 150 players in the state as researched, analyzed and complied by FloridaHSFootball.com staff members. While rankings are always subjective and players move up and down the charts, this list is meant to show you the fans who are some of the best players are in the state to keep a solid eye on this season and to see where they might head for their college career. Expect this list to change one more time right before National Signing Day, which will include information from the 2013 season.
Here are players 51-60 on the Florida HS Football Top 150.
51. WR JoJo Robinson | 6’0 | 170 | Miami Northwestern |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Florida State |
Robinson has great hands, speed and size for his position and he will be counted on big time this year as the Bulls have set up one of the toughest schedules in the state (and possibly the nation). |
52. DE Justus Reed | 6’3 | 220 | Clearwater Central Catholic |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Undecided |
Reed is a tough defensive end to go up against as he has the ability to push guys back from the opposing line. Reed was just one of the many cogs in the wheel that stopped teams last season and will likely do so again this season. |
53. WR Darrell Langham | 6’5 | 190 | Santaluces |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Miami (FL) |
Langham has been rising up the charts and helped Santaluces to a winning season last year. Now this Langham will have to put his talents further to work in order to help his team transition from Class 7A to Class 8A. |
54. OT Reilly Gibbons | 6’6 | 278 | St. Petersburg Catholic |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Miami (FL) |
Gibbons is being recruited as an offensive tackle despite the fact he can play tight end as well. Gibbons started getting recruited early and for Miami to land a verbal from him early will help the Hurricanes a lot on the offensive line |
55. ATH Charles Nelson | 5’9 | 195 | Seabreeze |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Undecided |
Nelson missed the spring football game and has been recovering from a torn ACL that ended his junior season back in October last year. The question remains here on how well he will do once he is back full time for the season and the performance we see. |
56. Tony James | 5’10 | 170 | Gainesville |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Undecided |
James won’t have much to do besides stepping in the shoes that Ralph Webb leaves behind. James has the key qualities that you want to find in a running back and it something that should help Gainesville at least get back to the playoffs this year. |
57. QB D.J. Gillins | 6’3 | 185 | Ribault |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Wisconsin |
Gillins suffered an ACL injury that caused him to miss the entire 2012 season when he was at Eagle’s View. Now Gillins has transferred to Ribault and he could put the Trojans into play contention in a district that includes Baker County, Bishop Kenny and Yulee. |
58. S Michael Johnson | 6’3 | 180 | Champagnat |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Louisville |
Johnson has built a name for himself over the last couple of seasons and his best season could be just around the corner. Johnson has the ability to mix things up with speed and running abilities, something that could prove beneficial once again. |
59. OLB Sharieef Rhaheed | 6’2 | 202 | Fort Pierce Central |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Undecided |
Rhaheed recently decommitted from LSU after being an early 2014 pledge, but now is favoring Louisville very heavily. Rhaheed’s abilties from his postion was one of the key reasons why Fort Pierce Central has been one of the top teams in Florida the last few seasons. |
60. WR Ryeshene Bronson | 6’3 | 185 | Dunbar |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Undecided |
Bronson had nearly 700 yards receiving for Dunbar last season and he could either match or top that amount this year as his team moves up to Class 5A. Bronson is also the cousin of current Clemson and former South Fort Myers WR Sammy Watkins. |
