[/one_third] [two_third_last] Post-Season Evaluation
This district was one of the craziest to watch this season. Not only did the projection go a bit haywire, but who won the district and who should have won the district overall were a totally off. Pace finished as the district champion this season after Escambia who started off 6-0 dropped two key district games to the Patriots and to the Milton Panthers. Milton which finished 3-7 got that second playoff spot as the district runner-up thanks to winning its last three games of the season, all of which were district games. Escambia however, we felt was the best team in this district and if it were not for that loss to Milton, the Gators would have been in the playoffs. However, a respectable 7-4 finish that include a postseason bowl game will build upon something for next year and a lesson to teams, never to take winless or sub-.500 teams lightly. Pensacola who we thought would rebound from last year and recapture the district actually fell even further which surprised a lot of people considering how strong a spring season they had, but the alert came when Rickards from Tallahassee did some exposure in the preseason game. Both Pine Forest and Washington finished where we thought they would finish at in the district standings, however at the same time it is a bit unusual for Pine Forest to be at the bottom a district considering its tradition of making the playoffs.
