Columbia has turned a corner since head coach Brian Allen took over the program in 2011, making the playoffs every single season and least getting to the regional semifinals each time.
However, the Tigers will lose a few key members of the program from this past season, but the talent is always coming in anew, refreshing things for the Tigers to stay inside the playoff hunt.
The schedule for the 2014 season is pretty much a flip from last season’s schedule. None of the opponents have changed, but some teams appear they could be stronger this year while other could be on the rebound and poised to make some noise.

THREE BEST OPPONENTS: Ed White, Gainesville, Lincoln
THREE WEAKEST OPPONENTS: Robert E. Lee, Terry Parker, Englewood
BEST OVERALL GAME: vs. Lincoln, Friday, September 5
This game should be the best game overall for the Tigers as they will likely be fresh off a win over Gainesville to open the season the week before. Both teams will have some variety of talent that will keep each other in check. However, we need to remember that Lincoln will be looking to steal the thunder here in this game and swipe a win away from Columbia. Columbia won in Tallahassee last year 28-14, the first win Columbia had over Lincoln since 1999
DISTRICT TRAP GAME: vs. Ed White, Friday, October 10
This should come as no surprise to Tiger fans that this is a district trap game. Ed White pulled out a huge upset over Columbia last year at home to win District 6A-3 and did the same thing back in 2010 when they were in the same district. However, this game will be at home for Columbia this year, but you can’t let your guard down against the Commanders, especially if you want to be a home come the first round of the playoffs.
WEAKEST GAME: at Terry Parker, Friday, September 19
Terry Parker is one team that Columbia easily dismantled last season and will very likely again. Terry Parker, modified its schedule dropping off an out-of-district Class 6A team for a Class 2A. We are not sure what it all means for Terry Parker, but for Columbia this game is one that we know is a for sure win, despite having travel over 80 miles just to go settle the score and come back home to Lake City.
