One of the first sets of preseason national rankings has been released for the upcoming 2014 season has placed six Florida teams in the Top 25.
MaxPreps has released its Preseason Top 25 for the upcoming season, compiled by National High School Football Editor, Steve Spiewak, gives the nation its first take on some of the top teams for the season.
It is no surprise teams like St. Thomas Aquinas, Booker T. Washington and Miami Central are part of that group, but there are others that are in there rightfully so, ready to take on the heat.
After taking a bad bruising in the Class 6A state championship last season, Armwood is back in the thick of things with the national rankings and American Heritage (Plantation) finally is in the mix to compete for a national title after finally tasting the success of winning a state championship.
Defending Class 3A state champion, Trinity Christian (Jacksonville), is in the thick of the national rankings and could make a case later on the season for a possible national championship.
