New Weight Room Revealed
The Leon Football Program revealed a new weight room this week, featuring eight new racks of weights, new flooring, and power clean mats. Funded by the Leon Touchdown Club, the new racks and mats are brightly marked with the Lion’s logo. The new equipment and configuration of the room will allow up to 40 players to work-out simultaneously and in a more organized format. Previously, only 10-15 players could use equipment at the same time.
“We’re really excited about our new equipment and the opportunity for better strength training. The new weight room lets us work more effectively and systematically, ” said Head Coach Tim Cokely. “We’re thankful to our booster program. The Touchdown Club helped with both funding and installation. The new room and personalized equipment tells the players we believe in their potential. Now they have to put in the hard work.”
Leon High School was established in 1871 and has fielded a football team since 1916. For more information, please contact Leon High School Football Head Coach Tim Cokely at (850) 728-3316 or Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach Doug Waddell at (850) 591-4077.
