2015 District Projections: Class 3A, Regions I & II – Districts 1, 2, 3 & 4

District projections for Class 3A – Regions I & II for the 2015 season.

REGION I

District 3A-1
1. Pensacola Catholic
2. Florida High
3. Taylor County

Comment: Florida High was the only team of the three teams that reached the playoffs last year, but the Seminoles will be down this year. As such, we expect Pensacola Catholic to win the district. Taylor County will be the darkhorse in the district and looking to disrupt the predictions.

District 3A-2
1. Trinity Christian (Jacksonville)
2. Episcopal
3. Providence
4. Duval Charter

Comment: Trinity Christian is by far the most talented team on in the district and should easily win the district title. Episcopal will battle it out with Providence for the runner-up spot, but Episcopal could see a breakout year under third-year head coach Mark Brunell. Duval Charter which reached the playoffs last year in Class 2A will find it tough to compete in Class 3A.

REGION II

District 3A-3
1. The First Academy (Orlando)
2. Trinity Catholic
3. Trinity Prep
4. Father Lopez

Comment:This might be the year where Trinity Catholic is no longer a district champion as they enter a district with Orlando-area schools. Although First Academy lost quite a few key players, the changes are not as drastic as what Trinity Catholic experienced this offseason. Trinity Prep will be looking to play the role of dark horse and Father Lopez also could play that role even potentially seeing the district end up in a tiebreaker situation if things go that way.

District 3A-4
1. Lakeland Christian
2. Tampa Catholic
3. Berkeley Prep

Comment: This will be a challenging three-team district that could potentially end up in a district tiebreaker situation to decided the playoff spots. We feel Lakeland Christian and Tampa Catholic are the two most talented teams, while Berkeley lost a couple of players during the offseason. As such transfers in or out of a program can have a major impact on a small school program.
