District projections for Class 3A – Regions III & IV for the 2015 season.
REGION III
District 3A-5
1. Clearwater Central Catholic
2. Calvary Christian (Clearwater)
3. Cardinal Mooney
4. St. Petersburg Catholic
Comment: Clearwater Central Catholic is by far the best team in the district and should easily win the district once again this season. Calvay Christian will be right back in the playoff hunt this year and should be able to top Cardinal Mooney, who has a new head coach this season. St. Petersburg Catholic is still in rebuilding mode and expectations are not very high this year for the Barrons.
District 3A-6
1. Melbourne Central Catholic
2. John Carroll
3. Holy Trinity
Comment: Melbourne Central Catholic will be the team to beat in this district and it won’t take much with John Carroll and Holy Trinity in the district. However John Carroll will try to put a fight and could slip past Melbourne Central Catholic. Holy Trinity might find it tough to get past Melbourne Central Catholic and John Carroll this season.
REGION IV
District 3A-7
1. American Heritage (Delray)
2. Oxbridge Academy
3. Cardinal Newman
Comment: American Heritage and Oxbridge Academy will battle it out for the top two spots in the district and it should pretty straight forward that both teams are talented. Cardinal Newman will be rebuilding under their new head coach and might find it tough to compete with American Heritage and Oxbridge Academy.
District 3A-8
1. Westminster Christian
2. Chaminade-Madonna
3. Somerset Charter (Homestead)
4. Everglades Prep (Homestead)
Comment: Westminster Christian is the top team in the district and the one with the most available talent. As such they should be able to win the district. Chaminade-Madonna has a new head coach, but they should improve enough to be the district runner-up. Somerset Charter and Everglades Prep join district play for the first time and both will find it a challenge as they go up against Westminster Christian and Chaminade-Madonna.
