PANHANDLE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
– RB Anthony Johnson Jr., Sr., Pace – The junior running back rushed for 360 yards and six touchdown in Pace’s 49-28 drubbing of Fort Walton Beach.
PANHANDLE COACH OF THE WEEK
– Jay Walls, Navarre – Coach Walls has lead Navarre to a fast start in which the team has scored over 100 points in their first two games of the season.
OTHER PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATIONS
– RB Deonte Sheffield, Jr., Niceville – Rushed for over 250 yards last night and scored three touchdowns in Niceville’s win over 26-14 win over Lincoln.
– ATH Jabri Frye, Sr., Escambia – Frye had a huge night for the Gators in a defensive struggle as he returned one interception for an 80-yard TD. Also returned the opening kickoff for 40 yards into West Florida territory
– RB Michael Carter, Sr., Navarre – Had another big performance for the Raiders, rushing for 234 yards on 13 carries and scored four touchdowns. His longest touchdown run was for 70 yards.
– RB/CB Ezra Gray, Mosley – On offense Gray had 12 carries for 96 yards and one touchdown plus one reception for 32 yards, while on defense had 7 tackles while returning a fumble 60 yards for a touchdown.
– RB/SS Joe Ledo-Massey, South Walton – Had 100 yards rushing on 18 carries, 3 catches for 48 yards on offense. Had 8 tackles, 3 assisted tackles, 2 tackles for loss, forced 1 fumble and recovered one fumble.
– RB Antonio Marshall, Fort Walton Beach – Had 181 yards rushing on 15 carries and one touchdown in a tough 49-28 loss to Pace.
– RB Tristan Covell, Gulf Breeze – Had 16 carries for 118 yards and two touchdowns, 2 catches for 35 yards and converted 4 two-point conversions in a tough 48-32 loss to Choctawhatchee.
– DE Tylon Tolbert, Vernon – Had 9 tackles, 2 assisted tackles, 4 sacks, 6 tackles for loss, 5 pass deflections, 5 quarterback pressures on defense while having one catch for 25 yards on offense in Vernon’s 48-16 win over FAMU.
– RB Azende Ray, Walton – 149 yards rushing 24 carries and two touchdowns, plus had one touchdown reception in Walton’s 28-14 win over Blountstown
– QB Jace Fielder, Walton – 12 of 26 passing for 145 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns in Walton’s 28-14 win over Blountstown.
– QB Jake Fairly, Choctawhatchee – 14 of 14 for 233 yards passing and two touchdowns in Choctahwatchee’s win over Gulf Breeze.
– Niceville Defense – Recorded eight sacks against Lincoln in their 28-14 win.
– QB Xavier Saulsberry, Pine Forest – Had 229 yards passing and 166 yards rushing as well as 4 total touchdowns in win over rival Pensacola.
– Daniel Ghant, Bay – Had 14 tackles, 1interception and 1 forced fumble in Bay’s big win over Vidor, TX.
