– LB Nathanael Nicholson, Centennial – Had 10 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 2 fumble recoveries and 2 defensive touchdowns in Centennial’s 21-7 win over Melbourne.
EAST COACH COACH OF THE WEEK
– Ron Parker, Centennial – Led the underdog Centennial Eagles to a surprising 21-7 win against Melbourne to open up the 2015 season.
OTHER PLAYER NOMINATIONS
– WR Walter Thomas, South Fork – Had 5 catches for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns in South Fork’s 38-29 win over cross-county rival Jensen Beach.
– LB Nathanael Nicholson, Centennial – Had 10 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 2 fumble recoveries and 2 defensive touchdowns in Centennial’s 21-7 win over Melbourne.
– DB Antoine Wallace, Fort Pierce Central – Had 3 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 2 interceptions including one returned for a touchdown and 3 pass breakups in the Cobras’ 37-0 win over rival Fort Pierce Westwood.
– ATH Bruce Judson, Cocoa – 18 carries for 165 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns in Cocoa’s 28-7 win over Palm Bay
– RB Timmy Pratt, Cocoa – 23 carries for 168 yards rushing in Cocoa’s 28-7 win over Palm Bay.
– DL Patrick Bethel, Vero Beach – Led Vero Beach’s defense with two sacks in a 37-0 shutout win over Santaluces.
– WR M.J. McGriff, Vero Beach – Had 10 receptions for 59 yards, but had his big moment in returning a 64-yard punt for a touchdown.
– RB Danuel Oscar, Sebastian River – Carried the ball 28 times for 78 yards and the Sharks’ only touchdown in a tough 10-9 loss to Titusville.
– DB D’ante Mitchell, Titusville – Returned a kickoff for 90-yards and giving Titusville their only touchdown score in a 10-9 win over Sebastian River.
– QB Eddie Yearby, Port St. Lucie – Had 221 yards passing and threw one touchdown in a tough, 20-13 loss to John Carroll to open the season.
– QB George Johnson, Martin County – The freshmen quarterback for the Tigers had a great Week 1 completing 9 of 15 passes for 140 yards and three touchdowns in Martin County’s 28-0 win against Jupiter as he filled in for the starter who was out with an injury.
– RB/CB James Blanks, Martin County – Had 113 rushing yards on 5 carries as well as an interception return for a touchdown in Martin County’s 28-0 shutout of Jupiter.
– RB Jalen Shelton, Eau Gallie – 15 carries for 106 yards rushing and three touchdowns in Eau Gallie’s 24-14 win over Satellite.
– WR Tre Nixon, Viera – Was a key leader for Viera, returning the opening kickoff for 99 yards for touchdown helping Viera shutout rival Rockledge 38-0.
– QB Hayden Kingston, Viera – 11 of 14 passing for 162 yards and scored on an 8-yard run in Viera’s 38-0 dispatch of rival Rockledge.
– QB/CB Bubba Fludd, Okeechobee – Had 9 carries for 145 yards rushing, 2 for 2 passing for 29 yards, 1 touchdown. Had 3 tackles and 3 pass breakups on defense.
