PANHANDLE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
QB Cody Saunders, Arnold – Saunders scorched Fort Walton Beach for 480 total yards (19 of 25 for 315 yards, 165 rushing, 5 TDs) in 40-21 win.
PANHANDLE COACH OF THE WEEK
Mike Davis, Escambia – Has Escambia off to a hot 2-0 start and guided the Gators to their first win over Niceville since 1995 last week.
OTHER PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATIONS
RB Chris Decker, Freeport – Decker ran for 161 yards and 1 TD and also blocked an extra point attempt in 18-12 win over Wewahitchka.
QB Trace Flowers, Wewahitchka – Flowers ran for 111 yards on 16 carries, while also throwing for 54 yards in loss to Freeport.
RB Azende Ray, Walton – Ray struggled early on with just 42 yards but finished the night with 135 and the deciding score in the come from behind 34-27 win over arch rival South Walton.
QB Dillon Bates, South Walton – Bates threw for 344 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-27 loss to arch rival Walton.
QB Chasen Roulhac, Blountstown – Roulhac’s 1-yard touchdown run with six minutes left helped the Tigers upset Baker. He also added a 3-yard score in the first half.
QB Jake Fairly, Choctawhatchee – Fairly ran for three touchdowns (6, 1, 1) the latter tied the game at 28 with two minutes left in the game.
DB Chris Pickett, Choctawhatchee – Picked off a pass in the final two minutes and then went in to run the wildcat offense which set up the Indians game winning field goal.
RB Michael Carter, Navarre – Carter terrorized Washington for 124 yards and three touchdowns in the first half before being taken out of the game due to an injury.
RB Alondo Thompkins, Tate – Thompkins ran for 134 yards in the huge win over West Florida.
RB Abram Smiley, Pensacola Catholic – Smiley scored three touchdowns for the Crusaders in the win over Gulf Breeze.
RB Adrian Sims, Chipley – Sims busted 65 yards on the games first play from scrimmage on his way to 111 yards on 14 carries.
QB Grant Rowell, Chipley – Rowell finished 4 of 6 for 110 yards and one touchdown.
QB Justin Davis, Bay – Ran for 110 yards and three touchdowns in his second start to lead Bay over arch rival Rutherford 41-0.
RB Destin Coates, Mosley – Coates ran for 163 yards on 24 carries to lead the Dolphins.
DE Branson Stuckey, Arnold – Finished with 13 tackles, two sacks, forced fumble and recovered fumble.
ATH Javontai Hall, Cottondale – Had eight carries for 130 yards, 3 rushing touchdowns and one fumble return for a touchdown in a 62-6 win over Landmark Christian.
