The Sweet 16 for Flag Football start this week with matchups on Friday night around the state. With that we will soon find out who will take home the state championship trophy in Class 2A by the end of next week!
1. Robinson (13-1)
Previous Ranking: No. 1
Clinched district title with wins over Chamberlain 47-0 and Brooks DeBartolo 39-12 to advance to the playoffs with the only loss still coming to Lincoln at the Capital City Classic in Tallahassee. They will host St. Petersburg Northeast to open the playoffs.
2. Monsignor Pace (13-0)
Previous Ranking: No. 2
The Lady Spartans continue to dominate and terrorize opponents posting six straight shutouts after easy wins over Goleman 63-0 and Norland 26-0 in the District 14 Tournament. Will travel to No. 3 Coconut Creek this Friday to open up the playoffs.
3. Coconut Creek (14-0)
Previous Ranking: No. 4
Coconut Creek survived a 14-12 nail biting win over Stranahan in the semifinals before wrapping up the district title with a 27-12 win over Pembroke Pines Charter. Now the Lady Cougars will get ready to the No. 3 Monsignor Pace to open up the playoffs on Friday night.
4. Fort Pierce Westwood (10-1)
Previous Ranking: No. 8
Shutout wins over Port St. Lucie 26-0 and Jensen Beach 19-0 helped the Lady Panthers wrap up another district title and punching a ticket into the Sweet 16. They will host Oxbridge Academy in late afternoon game on Friday in Fort Pierce.
5. Godby (12-2)
Previous Ranking: No. 6
Wins over Leon 25-6 and Chiles 19-13 helped the Lady Cougars claim another district title and more importantly put them back in the playoffs again. Their road to Tampa will start in Fort Walton Beach where they will travel to face No. 6 Choctaw in the opening round of the playoffs on Friday night.
6. Seabreeze (10-1)
Previous Ranking: No. 9
Lady Sandcrabs pulled the stunner of the year knocking off arch-rival and previously undefeated Mainland 19-12 in the district title game, sending Seabreeze to the playoffs instead. Now the Lady Sandcrabs will host No. 10 Harmony on Friday night.
7. Choctaw (12-1)
Previous Ranking: No. 5
The Lady Indians survived a three-overtime win over Crestview in the semifinals and held off Niceville 6-0 to claim its second straight district title. As such they will now host No. 5 Godby to open up the playoffs on Friday night.
8. Terry Parker (13-0)
Previous Ranking: HM
The Lady Braves had little challenge winning its district with ease with wins over Raines 21-6 and Paxon 27-7 to advance to the playoffs to go along with the Gateway Conference title they won the week before. As such they will now host HM Orange Park in the opening round of the playoffs on Friday.
9. Keystone Heights (9-1)
Previous Ranking: HM
The Lady Indians have won seven games in a row including wins over Trinity Catholic 38-6 and Vanguard 42-0 to clinch the District 5 championship and will host Armwood who surprisingly won its district tournament on Friday night.
10. Harmony (11-2)
Previous Ranking: HM
Harmony surprised Jones 15-0 in the District 10 Championship to advance to the playoffs a day after throttling Edgewater 32-0 in the semifinals. They will now travel to Daytona Beach on Friday night, where they will No. 6 Seabreeze awaiting.
