The Sweet 16 for Flag Football start this week with matchups on Friday night around the state. With that we will soon find out who will take home the state championship trophy in Class 2A by the end of next week!

1. Seminole Ridge (13-0)
Previous Ranking: No. 1
The Lady Hawks rolled through their district tournament, giving up only six points to Palm Beach Lakes and shutting out Jupiter in the process. Will host county rival Park Vista to open up the playoffs.

2. Plant (10-1)
Previous Ranking:
No. 3
Fought through a tough district championship game with Alonso (7-6) to emerge into the playoffs as the District 7 representative. Will host the Seminole Lady Warhawks from Pinellas County on Friday night to open up the playoffs.

3. Fleming Island (10-0)
Previous Ranking:
No. 2
Almost got knocked out of the district tournament by a Mandarin squad that found their grove at just the right time. However, the Lady Golden Eagles bounced back the same night to smash Robert E. Lee in a shutout, 40-0.

4. Apopka (12-2)
Previous Ranking:
No. 9
The Lady Blue Darters held their own through the district tournament against Spruce Creek and Ocoee to represent District 2 going into the playoffs. The Lady Blue Darters will travel on Friday to take on No. 3 Fleming Island, also can claim victory over several district championship this season including Harmony and Dr. Phillips.

5. St. Cloud (12-2)
Previous Ranking:
HM
The Lady Bulldogs worked their way through the district tournament last week knocking out Cypress Creek and Oak Ridge to win the district after top seed and previously ranked Osceola was knocked in the district semifinals by Oak Ridge. The Lady Bulldogs will host Bloomingdale to start the playoffs.

6. Alonso (11-3)
Previous Ranking:
3
Although Alonso won’t be in the playoffs, it was not fair for us to consider knocking them out of the rankings despite a one point loss to No. 2 Plant in the District 7 championship. The Lady Ravens had incredible season and that for us deserves incredible respect.

7. Dr. Phillips (11-3)
Previous Ranking:
HM
The Lady Panthers really showed their poise through the balance of the season, playing some considerable competition along the way including Harmony and No. 4 Apopka in the process. Dr. Phillips was able to avenge a loss to Boone in the District Championship game in District 3 and will host No. 8 Martin County on Friday night.

8. Martin County (10-0)
Previous Ranking:
HM
The Lady Tigers have shown some grit this season and that produced an undefeated result that includes winning the District 4 championship. However, the Lady Tigers will face a big challenge as they travel up to Dr. Phillips to open up the playoffs.

9. Miami High (12-0)
Previous Ranking:
HM
The Lady Stingarees have made the most of their first season as they won both the District 15 tournament as well as the GMAC Tournament. They will host Ferguson in the first round of the playoffs, a team Miami High has already seen this season during the GMAC Tournament last month.

10. Park Vista (11-2)
Previous Ranking: HM
The Lady Cobras avenged one of their losses earlier in the season to Lake Worth in the district championship game, upsetting the top overall seed to win the District 10 championship. With the new found ways of winning it all, will Park Vista have an answer for Seminole Ridge come Friday night?

Dropped Out: No. 5 Boone (11-1); No. 6 Western (11-1); No. 7 Lake Worth (13-1); No. 8 Taravella (8-1), No. 9 Osceola (10-1)

Honorable Mention: Bloomindale (9-2); Boone (11-1); Coral Springs (10-4); Everglades (10-4); Ferguson (11-1); Hialeah (10-3); Kissimmee Osceola (10-1); Lake Worth (13-1); Piper (9-3); Taravella (8-1); Western (11-1)
