Class 1A football is certainly one of the most entertaining classifications to watch a football game from with the small towns coming together and routing on for the one team that covers massive land areas.
Here are the best district games to watch in Class 1A with district play getting started this week.
DISTRICT 1A-2
Graceville (1-1, 0-0) at Holmes County (2-1, 0-0)
Skinny: This is a good game for one of these teams to take an early share of the district lead. However, some think Holmes County still has another year before they are back in the playoff hunt.
DISTRICT 1A-3
Blountstown (2-1, 0-0) at South Walton (3-0, 0-0)
Skinny: The Seahawks have been on a tear already, claiming their first win over rival Walton two weeks ago. Blountstown will have to figure out a way to get around this game without too much damage.
DISTRICT 1A-5
Jefferson County (0-1, 0-0) at Lafayette (2-0, 0-0)
Skinny: The Tigers were just one of many teams that put a hurt on the host Hornets last year, but this ending this year could be right back in favor of the Hornets once again.
DISTRICT 1A-6
Baldwin (2-1, 0-0) at Hawthorne (2-0, 0-0)
Skinny: We didn’t think this game would matter much in the preseason. Well, we have to think again. Baldwin was two points away from being 3-0 which means the Indians are going to be a force while Hawthorne looks to continue to surprise people by staying competitive in the district race this season.
Hilliard (1-1, 0-0) at Union County (1-1, 0-0)
Skinny: Union County is coming off a stunning loss to Newberry last week which could help Hilliard exploit any flaws they found in the Tigers. A win for the visiting Red Flashes could turn this district upside down.
DISTRICT 1A-7
Newberry (3-0, 0-0) at Williston (2-0, 0-0)
Skinny:Newberry has quickly become a team to keep an eye on in Class 1A and they will get their first chance to go up against another team expect to make noise in 1A-7 on the road against Williston.
