With multiple Florida Top 25 teams playing each other in Week 6 action, five ranked teams lost, all coming at the hands of other Top 25 teams. Here is a look at how the Top 25 fared.
1. Bradenton IMG Academy (5-0)
RESULT: The Ascenders had a much-needed week off after starting with an unblemished record for the first five weeks of the season.
2. Tampa Jesuit (5-0)
RESULT: The Tigers had a much-needed week of rest after getting off to a hot start of the season with an unblemished record.
3. Venice (5-0)
RESULT: The Indians pounced all over Lakewood Ranch, 61-7, to keep their undefeated record intact.
4. Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas (5-1)
RESULT: The Raiders thrashed Cooper City, 69-0, at home to stay undefeated in district play.
5. Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons (4-1)
RESULT: The Chiefs fell in the final seconds of their game with No. 10 Plantation American Heritage, 23-20.
6. Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna (4-1)
RESULT: After falling behind early in the first quarter, the Lions stormed back in the second half to end No. 8 Sanford Seminole’s 17 game winning streak with a 26-23 win on the road.
7. Miami Central (3-2)
RESULT: The Rockets had a tug-of-war with No. 11 Miami Northwestern, but a field goal near the end of the game put the Rockets on top of the Bulls after losing to them 21-14 last year.
8. Sanford Seminole (5-1)
RESULT: The Fighting Seminoles’ 17 game winning streak comes to an end with a 26-23 setback to No. 6 Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna. The winning streak for Seminole dated back to Sept. 18, 2020, with a 24-0 win over Gainesville.
9. Jacksonville Trinity Christian (5-1)
RESULT: The Conquerors were shut out on the road by No. 13 Bolles in a rare 35-0 running clock loss for Verlon Dorminey’s squad.
10. Plantation American Heritage (2-2)
RESULT: The Patriots squeaked by No. 5 Cardinal Gibbons with a last-second field goal to win 23-20 on the road and making it the third straight victory over the Chiefs.
11. Miami Northwestern (4-2)
RESULT: After getting the victory last year over No. 7 Miami Central, the Bulls scummed late in the game this year to the Rockets, 24-21.
12. Cocoa (3-1)
RESULT: The Tigers had their second bye week in three weeks at the Tigers only had nine games scheduled coming into the regular season.
13. Jacksonville Bolles (6-0)
RESULT: The Bulldogs remain undefeated on the season after shutting out and running clocking No. 9 Jacksonville Trinity Christian, 35-0.
14. Niceville (6-0)
RESULT: The Eagles stay undefeated on the season after smashing Crestview 42-21 in a key District 7A-1 contest.
15. Fort Lauderdale Dillard (6-0)
RESULT: The Panthers remain undefeated after smashing Davie Nova, 62-0, in a District 7A-15 contest.
16. Lake Mary (5-0)
RESULT: The Rams keep their undefeated streak going with a 44-20 win over DeLand in a District 8A-2 contest.
17. Port St. Lucie Treasure Coast (4-1)
RESULT: The Titans rolled past district foe Fort Pierce Central, 35-7, to start district play undefeated.
18. Pinecrest Gulliver Prep (5-0)
RESULT: The Raiders stay undefeated after taking down defending Class 2A state champion Hialeah Champagnat Catholic, 52-27.
19. Tampa Bay Tech (5-0)
RESULT: The Titans keep their undefeated season alive with a close 34-26 victory over No. 25 Seffner Armwood in a crucial district contest.
20. Kissimmee Osceola (5-1)
RESULT: The Kowboys easily took care of business against Windermere, 69-0, to remain undefeated in district play.
21. Orlando Edgewater (5-1)
RESULT: The Eagles flew high with a 44-14 victory over a struggling Winter Haven team in a District 7A-6 contest.
22. Apopka (4-1)
RESULT: The Blue Darters bounced back from their loss to Orlando Edgewater last week with a 20-6 district victory over Orlando Evans.
23. Jacksonville Riverside (6-0)
RESULT: The Generals pounced all over district foe Jacksonville Englewood, 42-18, to keep their undefeated season going.
24. Gainesville Buchholz (4-1)
RESULT: The Bobcats easily took care of district foe, Tallahassee Leon, 49-3, to earn their first district victory of the season.
25. Seffner Armwood (4-2)
RESULT: The Hawks fell in a close 34-26 loss to No. 19 Tampa Bay Tech in a key district game.
