Nine weeks are in the books for the 2021 Florida high school football season and the FHSAA has released their latest look at the RPI football playoff rankings as we head into Week 10 of the season.

As such this update provides the entire state a glimpse of what the potential playoff matchups could be looking like come the second week of November, but remember things change, as we still have three weeks worth of games (including this week) to go, however, the playoff picture is starting to become much more clearer with few games left.

In Classes 5A-8A, district record was taken into consideration except on certain exceptions which are noted.

For Class 6A, you will find a breakdown of RPI rankings for each team in every region and a projected seeding (including tiebreakers) based upon the guidelines as published by the FHSAA (click here to view), as well as quick thoughts about each region.

REGION 1

Rank Team Record RPI
1 Mosley 9-0 0.693
2 Pine Forest 6-1 0.674
3 Riverside 7-1 0.662
4 Lincoln 6-2 0.645
5 Gulf Breeze 6-2 0.618
6 Columbia 6-3 0.604
7 Gainesville 6-2 0.602
8 St. Augustine 5-2 0.598
9 Choctawhatchee 5-3 0.588
10 Rickards 5-3 0.585
11 Escambia 4-3 0.540
12 Booker T. Washington (Pensacola) 4-4 0.512
13 Englewood 4-4 0.484
14 Milton 3-5 0.480
15 Middleburg 4-4 0.469
16 Fort Walton Beach 1-7 0.427

18 Orange Park 2-6 0.386
19 Matanzas 3-6 0.379
20 Ridgeview 1-7 0.366

PROJECTED DISTRICT CHAMPS
This is based on current district standings and taking the highest-rated team among the district standings if they have won district games. Should a district not have any district games played as of yet, the highest-rated team will be mythically slotted in as a district champion for projection purposes only. Teams highlighted in red have officially clinched their district championship.

6A-1: Pine Forest – No. 2
6A-2: Mosley – No. 1
6A-3: Columbia- No. 3
6A-4: Gainesville – No. 4

No. 5 Riverside vs. No. 4 Gainesville
No. 6 Lincoln vs. No. 3 Columbia

QUICK THOUGHTS: Things have become really interesting in the projected matchups in this district with Gainesville now sliding into the No. 4 seed as a projected district champion and could clinch this week against St. Augustine while Pine Forest takes over the No. 2 seed as they look to wrap things up this week as well. All that shuffles the projected at-large berths with Riverside sliding up to the No. 5 while Lincoln slides to No. 6 with Gulf Breeze and St. Augustine taking the back seat now at No. 7 and No. 8 respectively.

QUICK THOUGHTS: A lot of things have shaken up in what the projected pairings look like with Sumner defeating Braden River to take a top-four seed at No. 3 while Boca Ciega moves up to the No. 2 seed as the current district leader in 6A-11. Jesuit continues to hang strong at No. 1 and likely will be the No. 1 seed overall for Region 3. Braden River falls to a No. 5 seed while Northeast, Pinellas Park, and Hillsborough all shift down a spot as well, leaving Southeast and River Ridge on the outside looking in for the No. 8 seed.

No. 5 South Fort Myers vs. No. 4 Coconut Creek
No. 6 Fort Myers vs. No. 3 Miami Northwestern
No. 7 Plantation vs. No. 2 Naples

QUICK THOUGHTS: With all the district champions locked in for this region, the only thing that will shift is the final placement of those teams for the Top 4 and who will get the at-large berths for seeds No. 5 through No. 8. The only teams to trade spots this week is Charlotte moving to No. 8 while Plantation moves up to the No. 7.
