ROBINSON TIES STATE RECORD FOR MOST CONSECUTIVE WINS
Tampa Robinson entered Friday night’s game against Tampa Wharton with a 51-game winning streak with only needing one more win to tie the state record of 52 wins with Westlake Seminole Ridge who set the record over three years between 2015 and 2017.
And with tonight, the record has been tied with Robinson getting a 33-0 over the visiting Wildcats from the north end of Tampa.
As for when the last time the Knights took a loss on the field? That was on April 16, 2018, when the fell to rival Alonso 18-12 in the 2018 season that saw two losses for the Knights, but have won five straight state championships and six in the last seven, excluding the 2020 season which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Robinson will get a chance to go for win No. 53 and take claim of the record in full on March 23 after the Knights return from Spring Break.
Two nice victories today. Was really impressed with @WhartonFlag in terms of attitude and effort. They made us work for every yard and had a great talk with some after the game.
