District tournament week is here for Flag Football and there is a lot of exciting action about to go down in all 32 districts in two classifications across the Sunshine State with the preparation of regional playoffs starting next week.

Here is a look at the districts in Class 1A-Region 4 which includes Districts 13, 14, 15, and 16.

DISTRICT 1A-13

No. 9 Fort Lauderdale Stranahan (3-4) vs. No. 8 Oakland Park Northeast (3-6), 4:30
No. 10 Coconut Creek (1-7) vs. No. 7 North Lauderdale Somerset Prep (1-6), 4:30

QUARTERFINAL MATCHUPS
at Oakland Park Northeast
Tuesday

Winner of Stranahan/Northeast vs. No. 1 Davie Posnack (8-2), 5:45
No. 5 Southwest Ranches Archbishop McCarthy (3-4) vs. No. 4 Pompano Beach (8-6), 4:30
Winner of Coconut Creek/Somerset Prep vs. No. 2 Hollywood Hills (5-2), 4:30
No. 6 Pembroke Pines Somerset Academy (4-4) vs. No. 3 Pembroke Pines Charter (6-5), 5:45

Remaining Schedule

SEMIFINALS & FINALS
at Oakland Park Northeast
Wednesday

Winner of Play-In/Posnack vs. Winner of Archbishop McCarthy/Pompano Beach, 5
Winner of Play-In/Hollywood Hills vs. Winner of Somerset Academy/Pembroke Pines Charter, 5
District Championship, 7

QUICK ANALYSIS: This is a mixed-up type district with a lot of teams and not a lot on them to talk about outside the fact that Posnack in its first year of state series play has earned the No. 1 seed in the district and is currently ranked No. 8 in Region 4. Hollywood Hills which has the No. 2 seed is currently ranked No. 11 in the region and could be a force to sneak out of the district championship

PLAYOFF TEAMS PREDICTION
Hollywood Hills – District Champion

DISTRICT 1A-14

SEMIFINALS
at Miami Norland
Tuesday

No. 4 Miami Carol City (1-4) vs. Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna (9-3), 3
No. 6 Hialeah Mater Lakes (1-5) vs. No. 2 Miami Norland (6-3), 4

FINALS
at Miami Norland
Thursday

District Championship, 4

QUICK ANALYSIS: This is an interesting district as well with Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna only in its third overall year playing flag football looking a possibly win its first district championship in school history. However, keep in mind that Miami Norland has more experience here playing and winning district championships and contending well in the district tournaments. With that said, experiences here could play a role that allows Miami Norland to take the district, especially as they host the district tournament on their home field as well as having a better overall strength of schedule.

PLAYOFF TEAMS PREDICTION

Miami Norland – District Champion
Chaminade-Madonna – At-Large

DISTRICT 1A-15

QUARTERFINAL MATCHUPS
at Miami Edison
Monday

No. 5 Miami Gardens Monsignor Pace (3-6) vs. No. 4 Miami SLAM Academy (7-4), 2
No. 7 Hialeah Educational (1-5) vs. No. 2 Miami Central (11-2), 5
No. 6 Miami Booker T. Washington (2-4) vs. No. 3 Miami Northwestern (5-2), 3:30

Remaining Schedule

SEMIFINALS
at Miami Edison
Tuesday

Winner of Monsignor Pace/SLAM Academy vs. No. 1 Miami Edison (9-1), 3:30
Winner of Hialeah Educational/Miami Central vs. Winner of Booker T. Washington/Miami Northwestern, 5

FINALS
at Miami Edison
Wednesday

District Championship, 4

QUICK ANALYSIS: This is a quality district that has built up over time in Miami and Is starting to shape like how the tackle football team districts are in this area as well. Miami Central has been on fire this year with Lakatriona Brunson leading the way for the Rockets with Thurman McMullen who was over at Miami Jackson as one of her assistants. However, the team that has been the focus of the district for a while is Miami Edison which is once again in the hunt for another deep playoff run. Also, let’s not forget about Miami Northwestern as they have been upcoming in flag football as well. Right now, Miami Edison ranks No. 1 in Region 4 while Miami Central ranks No. 2 with Miami Northwestern sitting at No. 5.

PLAYOFF TEAMS PREDICTION
Miami Edison – District Champion
Miami Central – At-Large
Miami Northwestern – At-Large

DISTRICT 1A-16

QUARTERFINAL MATCHUPS
at Higher Seed
Monday

No. 8 South Miami (1-6) at No. 1 Miami Somerset Silver Palms (10-1), 3:30
No. 5 Somerset South Homestead (7-2) at No. 4 Homestead Keys Gate Charter (10-5), 3:30
No. 7 Miami Archbishop Carroll (3-4) at No. 2 Miami TERRA Institute (7-2), 3:30
No. 6 Miami True North (5-4) at No. 3 Miami Killian (6-4), 3:30

Remaining Schedule

SEMIFINALS
at Gateway Baptist Church
Tuesday

Winner of South Miami/Somerset Silver Palms vs. Winner of Somerset South Homestead/Keys Gate Charter, 6
Winner of Archbishop Carroll/TERRA Institute vs. Winner of True North/Miami Killian, 4

FINALS
at Gateway Baptist Church
Thursday

District Championship, 6

QUICK ANALYSIS: This is an interesting district with a lot of types of programs involved here but Somerset Silver Palms has stood out as the top team but not by much as TERRA Institute which the No. 2 seed has played with a better strength of schedule overall this season. If both Somerset Silver Palms and TERRA reach the district championship, it will be the first meeting of the two teams this season. Miami Killian is the No. 3 seed and currently No. 7 overall in Region 4, so an at-large berth is likely, but a good showing in the district tournament will help lock things in for the Cougars.

PLAYOFF TEAMS PREDICTION
TERRA Institute – District Champion
Somerset Silver Palms – At-Large
