MADISON, Fla. – Congratulations to Kemari Scurry, the Madison County (Madison) junior defensive lineman, who was voted the scoutSMART Florida Player of the Week for his performance for Week 3 (Sept. 7-Sept. 9) of the 2023 season!
Kemari is a 6-0, 230 pound defensive lineman for the Cowboys and was selected as the Florida Player of the with more than 7,000 votes in fan voting last week on FloridaHSFootball.com.
In week three action against a very talented Fitzgerald (GA) at the Border War games in Brunswick, Ga., Kamari had 13 tackles and a quarterback hurry in their Cowboys’ first full game after seeing their Week 1 game against Carrollwood Day (Tampa) be impact by weather, while their Week 2 home game against Godby (Tallahassee) was canceled after Boot Hill Stadium, home of Madison County football suffered damaged due to the passing of Hurricane Idalia.
Kamari aspires to be a D1 player after high school and he also helps with his younger brother’s t-ball team.
When asked, what makes him a great as a player, Kamari responded “I think what makes me a great player is I am never satisfied but always humble.”
