Welcome to the fifth FloridaHSFootball.com Florida Top 25 for the 2024 season!

Each week, I will provide a brief synopsis of the Top 10 and present the rest of the Top 25 listed below that. Each week records and previous ranking are also shown. The FloridaHSFootball.com Top 25 rankings will not necessarily reflect the FloridaHSFootball.com Sports Media Poll Weekly Rankings that are running each week during the season.

FLORIDA TOP 25 FOLLOWING WEEK 4

THE TOP 10

1. IMG Academy (Bradenton) (IND) (3-1), Last Week: No. 1

Last week the Ascenders easily handled visiting Mount Zion Prep Academy from Maryland in a 57-0 romp that will keep IMG Academy in the top spot of the Florida Top 25 for another week. All eyes are now on hosting visiting Mandarin (Jacksonville) who is coming off a setback against now-No. 20 Bradford (Starke).

2. Lakeland (5A) (3-0), Last Week: No. 2

The Dreadnaughts handled business on the road against Winter Haven, 44-0, and the Dreadnaughts look to host Booker T. Washington (Miami) this week at Bryant Stadium.

3. Cocoa (2A) (3-1), Last Week: No. 3

The Tigers picked right back up on their winning ways after the lost to No. 1 IMG Academy (Bradenton) handling things against a struggling Heritage (Palm Bay) team, beating them 39-13. This week a road trip to No. 7 Venice awaits the Tigers.

4. Miami Norland (4A) (3-0), Last Week: No. 4

Doing just enough to edge now-No. XX Miami Northwestern, 21-17, the Vikings will have to prepare now for a tough road challenge at No. 12 Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood).

5. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale) (5A) (3-1), Last Week No. 5

A tight win last week for the Raiders over Western (Davie), 23-15, St. Thomas Aquinas has experienced variety of ways to win games so far. This week things should be much easier on the gridiron with McArthur (Hollywood) coming for a visit.

6. Miami Central (3A) (3-1), Last Week: No. 6

Opening up district play with a 67-0 victory over Pompano Beach on the road is one way to keep the confidence going as the Rockets have now scored at least 50 points per game since their Week 1 loss to Lakeland.

7. Venice (7A) (4-0), Last Week: No. 7

Another week, another game that was a high-scoring barn burner for the Indians, this time defeating Port Charlotte, 49-41. At some point, the Indians’ defense will have to keep things in check, especially with No. 3 Cocoa coming into town.

8. Armwood (Seffner) (6A) (4-0), Last Week: No. 9

Armwood is looking solid taking down another playoff team from the 2023 season. This time the latest victim to fall was Durant, who the Hawks crushed, 35-0. This week Armwood will travel over to Hillsborough (Tampa).

9. Jones (Orlando) (4A) (3-0), Last Week: No. 11

The Tigers once again had another tough test with a tough opponent in Edgewater (Orlando), defeating the Eagles 31-21. Now with just a short amount of rest and fewer days of practice to prepare, the Tigers will travel to Kissimmee on Thursday night to take on the Kowboys of Osceola.

10. Clearwater Central Catholic (1A) (4-0), Last Week: No. 12

The Marauders have looked strong every week and this past week they blew past city foe Clearwater with another 40- plus point game, defeating the Tornadoes, 42-14. This week a road trip    Trinity Catholic (Ocala) is in order and will battle a Celtics team that is right now hard-pressed on their luck.
