JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars kicked off their first day of the 2025 Jaguars Girls Flag Football Preseason Classic with the first wave of 60 plus teams coming through on Thursday at the Miller Electric Center, the training facility home for the Jaguars.
While the weather was warm at the start of the day, the weather started become very wet with heavy rain at various times as teams made sure to get both of their preseason matchups in.
Pro Football Hall of Famer Tony Boselli who was just recently name Executive Vice President of Football Operations spoke to the teams prior to the day starting and really focusing on the message from the recent NFL campaign during Super Bowl LIX to get girls flag football to be a sanctioned sport in all 50 states.
Athletes from the Jacksonville Jaguars represented the team in talking with the girls flag football athletes including S Andre Cisco, DE D’Shaan Dixon and LB Foye Oluokun.
With Florida being the first state to sanction the sport, the sport is entering the 2025 season with over 400 programs and the number of classifications having expanded from two to four in the FHSAA.

RESULTS FROM DAY 1
Lincoln (Tallahassee) 7, Bartram Trail (St. Johns) 6: An extra point made the difference in this matchup as Matt Jackson takes over as head coach for the Trojans. Second-year Bears showed promise with some new receivers in the mix but was without All-Prep receiver Lily Holden due to soccer playoffs still going on for Bartram Trail.
Seabreeze (Daytona Beach) 18, Westside (Jacksonville) 0 – Sandcrabs looks strong against a Wolverines team still trying to establish themselves as Seabreeze looks to get back to being one of the teams to be reckoned with in Central Florida.
Atlantic Coast (Jacksonville) 57, Trinity Christian (Deltona) 0 – Stingrays might not have All-Prep star Gaby Rourke anymore, but the Stingrays shined with all their athletes contributing to a shutout victory to start off 2025 in a positive note.
Menendez (St. Augustine) 20, First Coast (Jacksonville) 0 – The Falcons looked solid to open up 2025 with a shutout victory over the Buccaneers who had their ups and downs in 2024.
Eagle’s View (Jacksonville) 26, KIPP Bold City (Jacksonville) 0 – Two first-year teams battled it out in their first game of the year and the Warriors came out ahead big against the Greyhounds.
Westside (Jacksonville) 14, Trinity Christian (Deltona) 0 – After getting shut out in the first game, the Wolverines put up points on the board while the Eagles did not score in their second game of the day.
Atlantic Coast (Jacksonville) 18, Lincoln (Tallahassee) 0 – The Stingrays carried over their momentum from their first win to defeat perennial playoff team in the Trojans to finish the preseason 2-0 and set up momentum going into the regular season.
Bartram Trail (Jacksonville) 0, Seabreeze (Daytona Beach) 0 – Both the Bears and Sandcrabs saw their defenses shine in this game with both teams drawing to a tie.
Menendez (St. Augustine) 0, Faith Christian (Orlando) 0 – Another matchup that drew to a tie as teams started to battle things out in the on-and-off heavy rains.
Faith Christian (Orlando) 8, KIPP Bold City (Jacksonville) 0 – Second-year Faith Christian picked up a preseason win with a touchdown difference
Eagle’s View (Jacksonville) 12, First Coast (Jacksonville) 6 – The first year Warriors closed out the first preseason as a program with a second victory in a game that was impacted by an injury for the Buccaneers.
