2025 GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL RANKINGS
WEEK 1
Welcome to the first edition of the 2025 Girls Flag Football Rankings from FloridaHSFootball.com. While we know the season is kicking off today around the state, we are putting out our first rankings of the season in a pure educated guess of where we feel teams should be at.
Some things taken into consideration including historical performance, team strengths, and just a slight peek into the preseason – and yes, we know teams are shaking off the rust and not everyone was at full strength due to some teams having athletes in postseason playoffs for basketball or soccer.
We will update these rankings weekly and will provide a Top 10 for each of the four classifications along with our Florida Top 25 which is the Top 25 teams in girls flag football regardless of classification. To be ranked in the Florida Top 25, teams have to be ranked in the Top 10 of their classification to be considered.
FLORIDA TOP 25
Ranking, Team, Classification, 2024 Record

1. Robinson (Tampa) (2A), 24-0
They are the team to beat for a reason with eight straight state championships and nine out of the last 10 years excluding the 2020 season. Until someone can dethrone and prevent the Knights from winning a state championship, they will be on top for a long while.

2. Miami Palmetto (4A), 20-1
Panthers won their first state title this year and have a great shot of repeating as state champions in 2024 in the new Class 4A.

3. Lennard (Ruskin) (4A), 19-4
Coming up one-point short of the state championship is a lot of fuel and fire in the tank for the Longhorns who have a legitimate chance of winning the 4A title this season.

4. Fort Pierce Central (4A), 19-2
This team is going to turn even more heads in 2025 and they picked up a big win over Robinson at the 2025 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Girls Flag Football Preseason Classic last week, only adding fuel to thoughts of a very deep playoff run.

5. Alonso (Tampa) (4A), 18-1
I know some people are going to think I am ranking Alonso a little too low, but honestly, after not making it out of the regional bracket in 2024, earning their way up is the way we feel it should go.

6. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale) (3A), 13-5
The Raiders are knocking on the door to being close to their tackle counterparts on the state stage and they are going to be a force to be reckon with in Class 3A.

7. Seminole Ridge (Westlake) (3A), 14-3
The Hawks are looking for their first state title in nearly a dcade and the path is much clearer in what is going to be a really strong Class 3A grouping of teams.

8. Choctawhatchee (Fort Walton Beach) (2A), 16-2
Jim Bay’s team is going to be another top-tier team in the state once again and the Indians have quarterback Diaris Morales back to lead the way for another deep playoff run.

9. Western (Davie) (4A), 17-1
Do not underestimate the Wildcats and what head coach James O’Brien can do. Just because they weren’t at the state championship last season does not mean anything. Keep your eyes out on this team.

10. Braden River (Bradenton) (3A), 18-2
Yes the Pirates will have to find a new quarterback after Cydnee Brooks graduated, but until we see otherwise, we got to think the Pirates are cooking up another deep playoff run in 2025.

11. Pace (3A), 16-6
Pace could be inside the Top 10, but with a coaching change happening I am interested to see if things will hold up like they did in 2024. Good news is sensational quarterback Amaya Pablo is back for her senior year.

12. Fletcher (Neptune Beach) (3A), 12-4
If you do not know the name Jasmine Cross, you should start getting to know her as she was the quarterback that led the Senators to the regional finals in 2024.

13. Clay (Green Cove Springs) (2A), 13-2
Never underestimate the Blue Devils and what they can do. Several key athletes are back for Jared Moses’ squad and they could be in position for another deep playoff run in 2025.

14. Ed White (Jacksonville) (2A), 16-4
The Commanders will be another top team to keep an eye on from the Jacksonville-area and after a deep run in the regional finals, several key athletes return including quarterback Kyra Jackson.

15. Homestead (3A), 17-3
Quarterback Jerniyah Fowles is back after a dominating junior season and is ready to lead the Broncos to another deep playoff run in 2025.

16. Florida High (Tallahassee) (1A), 13-2
The Seminoles are being overlooked by many, but after the performance they had at the 2025 Jacksonville Jaguars girls flag football preseason classic, they are going to be a team to watch in Class 1A.

17. Miami Southridge (3A), 15-3
The Spartans were another team that ran deep in the playoffs in 2024 and the will be another team that will be in the race for the Class 3A state championship.

18. Somerset Canyons (Boynton Beach) (1A), 18-2
A lot of young talent here and includes returning sophomore quarterback Ava Wotipka who is going to be one of the top girls flag football prospects in the 2027 class.

19. Miami Edison (1A), 11-3
You got to think, could this be the year for the Red Raiders to finally get that first state championship? Some amazing talent returns that will help the case for a deep playoff run.

20. Jensen Beach (2A), 14-7
The Falcons might be overlooked by some, but that is alright, as we will give them their due recognition. With Paige Bressman back, expect her to match or exceed her 3,500 yards passing from a year ago.

21. Paxon (Jacksonville) (2A), 13-4
Emerged as one of the top teams in Jacksonville over the last couple of years, the Golden Eagles looked really solid despite some talent loss at the 2025 Jacksonville Jaguars Girls Flag Football Preseason Classic.

22. Lecanto (2A), 15-2
Rick Keeran has built the Panthers program up and they have been a playoff team over the last few years. Expect Lecanto to be in the mix for a potential deep playoff run once again in 2025.

23. Timber Creek (Orlando) (4A), 15-2
The Wolves had their deepest playoff run in 2024 and while a couple of pieces from that team have since moved on, Timber Creek has been on the rise as one of the top teams from Central Florida in recent years in girls flag football.

24. Steinbrenner (Lutz) (4A), 14-5
While the Warriors didn’t get past the regional semifinals in 2024, there is a lot of talent returning that will help forge a possible deep playoff run.

25. Fleming Island (3A), 15-1
Not ready to fully say that Fleming Island is going to be totally down in 2025. Yes, the loss of London Jenkins is going to hurt this year, but the Golden Eagles are still a decent program with a great coach in Clint Lyons.
