FLAG FOOTBALL FINAL FOR FRI., FEB. 21, 2025
FLORIDA TOP 25
No. 19 Miami Edison 20, No. 2 Miami Palmetto 19
In a squeaker, the Red Raiders pulled off the first massive upset of the season, knocking off a Top 5 team in the process. While we do not have full statistics yet for the Red Raiders, it appears Miami Palmetto quarterback Ava Alvarez struggled at points in the game throwing two interceptions despite going 15-of-27 for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Although Alvarez accounted for a rushing touchdown a couple of missed extra points were the difference in this game.
No. 4 Fort Pierce Central 26, Park Vista (Lake Worth) 14
The Cobras picked up their third win of the season with Adrienne Rivera going 18-of-24 passing for 221 yards and three touchdowns while adding 31 yards rushing on six carries. Kailee Grone led Fort Pierce Central in receiving with 81 yards on two receptions and a touchdown. Karla Timothy had two interceptions on defense.

Sandalwood (Jacksonville) 13, No. 14 Ed White (Jacksonville) 6
In the Jacksonville Jaguars Girls Flag Football Game of the Week, the No. 14 Commanders couldn’t hold up against a Saints team that had suffered a setback the day before, dropping their first game of the season.
No. 16 Florida High (Tallahassee) 38, Tocoi Creek (St. Augustine) 0
The Seminoles pitched their third straight shutout of the seasons with a 38-0 thumping of the Toros to move to 3-0 on the season.
New Smyrna Beach 27, No. 25 Fleming Island 6
It could be a long struggle for Fleming Island in 2025 after they drop their first game of the season in cold and windy conditions on the road in New Smyrna Beach. According to Fleming Island statistician Mike Lyons, New Smyrna Beach quarterback Emma Corr was responsible for all four of the Barracudas’ touchdowns (three rushing, one passing) while accounting for an interception on defense while the Golden Eagles were without their starting quarterback on offense. The Barracudas move to 2-0 on the season with the victory.
