FLAG FOOTBALL: Vote for who should be the Tampa Bay Girls Flag Football Player of the Week for Week 2 of the 2025 Season

With the 2025 Girls Flag Football Season underway in the Sunshine State, we are working hard in ramping up our coverage of girls flag football with the growth of the sport that has been seen in the Sunshine State over the last few years. As such, one of those initiatives in ramping up our coverage of girls flag football is to provide Player of the Week polls in our new condensed model of eight regions we will be using going forward in our coverage of not only girls flag football but in tackle football as well.

As such, Week 2 is in the books and we have looked at all the scores and all the game results from Week 2 and have narrowed our list down from the schools that play flag football and have posted statistics on MaxPreps in each region and have selected five deserving athletes for our Tampa Bay Girls Flag Football Player of the Week for Week 2. We encourage coaches to post statistics in MaxPreps to have athletes considered for our Girls Flag Football Player of the Week polls or submit them to joshua.wilson@floridahsfootball.com and write “Statistics/Player of the Week Nominations” in the subject line.

Voting lasts until 11:59 p.m. ET/10:59 p.m. CT on Sunday, March 9 with the winner announced on Monday, March 10.

QB/ATH Madelyn DePetrillo, Nature Coast (Brooksville), Jr.

Went 34-of-53 passing for 402 yards and six touchdowns, along with one rushing touchdown on offense while recording two flag pulls, one interception, and four pass deflections on defense in wins over The Villages (26-0) and Crystal River (26-0).

Recorded six sacks and six flag pulls across victories over Frostproof (33-0) and Durant (30-0).

QB Sophia Spiegel, Land O’ Lakes, So.

Went 17-of-21 passing for 227 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing for 28 yards on five carries in a 26-0 win over Sunlake.

QB Zoe Surrency, Strawberry Crest (Dover), So.

Went 25-of-44 passing for 313 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for 39 yards and two touchdowns across a 19-13 overtime loss to Steinbrenner and a 38-13 victory over Sumner.

Went 40-of-61 passing for 397 yards and four touchdowns in wins over Wharton (34-0) and Robinson (18-0).
