FLORIDA TOP 25
No. 6 Choctawhatchee
Choctawhatchee 32, Destin 0 (Monday), Choctawhatchee 27, Niceville 6 (Tuesday); Choctawhatchee 21, Pace 14 (Wednesday)
The Indians moved to 9-0 on the season after winning all three games on the schedule this week heading into the spring break off week. The biggest win of the week came against No. 9 Pace on Wednesday with a seven-point victory showing us once again the Indians will be the top team to beat from the Panhandle. Darias Morales had an outstanding week throwing for nearly 700 yards and seven touchdowns while adding 50 yards rushing and three more touchdowns. Defensive Jaynia Brown recorded two interceptions in three games while Ariana Gonzales and Miran Redondo each recorded two sacks in the game against Pace.
No. 9 Pace
Pace 26, Tate 0 (Monday); Choctawhatchee 21, Pace 14 (Wednesday); Pace 46, Gulf Breeze 0 (Thursday)
The Patriots went 2-1 on the week to move to 7-1 on the season with the loss coming against No. 6 Choctawhatchee. While Amaya Pablo didn’t struggle necessarily against the Indians, it was the four sacks that proved costly in the end that kept the Patriots from finding a potential upset. Pablo threw for nearly 550 yards and nine touchdowns between the three games and had over 100 yards rushing along with two touchdowns. Defensively the Patriots recorded nine interceptions on the week with six of those coming in the game against Gulf Breeze.
