Week 3 is officially in the books, and the Central Florida Region delivered more incredible performances here in the early stages of the 2025 season. From game-changing plays to dominating stat lines, athletes all across the region made their mark on opening week.
After reviewing box scores and standout highlights, we narrowed the field down to 10 finalists for the second The Blitz – Central Florida Football Player of the Week award. We also spotlighted a few more athletes who were strongly considered.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – WEEK 2
RB Daryl Ellis, East Ridge
Powered the ground attack with 149 rushing yards on 18 carries and two touchdowns to lead the Knights to a 28–25 victory over Mount Dora.
WEEK 3 NOMINEES
RB Todd Cutler Jr., New Smyrna Beach
Dominated on the ground with 285 rushing yards and a 77-yard touchdown to power the Barracudas’ 21–3 victory over Ransom Everglades.
RB Amar’e Johnson, Bishop Moore
Rushed for 144 yards on 25 carries and scored two touchdowns for the Hornets in their 34-25 come-from-behind victory over Bartow.
RB Damarion Moore, Harmony
Carried the ball 22 times for 145 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 21-7 win over Sebastian River.
RB Taihj Moore, DeLand
The breakout sophomore star, rushing for 212 yards and four touchdowns while adding 20 receiving yards and a two-point conversion in the Bulldogs’ 57–51 shootout win over Merritt Island.
RB Li’Darious Pryor, Evans
Powered the ground game with 109 rushing yards and two touchdowns, carrying the Trojans to a 28–25 win over Jones.
DE Davis Suchora, East Ridge
Dominated up front with 2.5 sacks and four total tackles, spearheading a defense that recorded four sacks in the 51–6 win over Davenport.
QB Jackson Stecher, Lake Brantley
Surgically efficient, completing 24 of 26 passes for 338 yards and a touchdown while also adding two rushing scores in the Patriots’ 47-37 over Oviedo.
DL Rockett Van Hoose, The Master’s Academy (Oviedo)
Delivered two sacks and two tackles for loss to spark a dominant defensive effort in the 35–14 win over Geneva.
QB Cole Walker, Matanzas
Was razor-sharp through the air, completing 28 of 35 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns in the 40–14 win over Deltona.
QB Camren West, Dr. Phillips
Directed the offense with 176 passing yards and three touchdown strikes while adding nine rushing yards in the Panthers’ 45–7 win over Apopka.
