PALM COAST, Fla. — Khloe Jackson threw for 212 yards and rushed for a touchdown, Ali Estrada added a rushing score and Nina Macy returned an interception for a touchdown as No. 17 Spruce Creek defeated Matanzas 19-0 Thursday night.
Jackson, a sophomore, completed 14-of-24 passes for 212 yards while also carrying the ball three times for 8 yards and a score. Estrada was the workhorse on the ground, rushing 24 times for 44 yards and a touchdown while also hauling in six receptions for 47 yards.
Aleah Anderson led the receiving corps with three catches for 11 yards, while Camryn Johnson added two receptions for 8 yards. Lizzy Philips chipped in with one catch for 4 yards.
Macy sealed the shutout with a pick-six on the defensive side of the ball, giving Spruce Creek its first win of the season.
The victory comes after Spruce Creek dropped a 6-0 overtime decision to Flagler Palm Coast on Tuesday. The Hawks improve to 1-1 on the season. Matanzas falls to 1-1.
