Welcome to our in depth coverage of the 2013 Under Armour All-America Game. We will presenting previews of all the positions through out the week. This ninth preview will look in depth of all the offensive centers in this year’s game.
#54 Scott Quessenberry | La Costa Canyon HS | Carlsbad, CA | 6’4, 276 | UCLA
Quessenberry has shown great athleticism at the center position so far at the Under Armour All-American practices. The 6’4 center chose UCLA back in October 2012, over Arizona, Arizona State and Arkansas. Quessenberry, ranked as the number two center in the country and 191st overall on the ESPN 300, helped the La Costa Canyon Mavericks rush for over 200 yards per game his senior year with his great run blocking ability. La Costa Canyon has produced Pac-12 athletes before, most notably Minnesota Timberwolves F Chase Budinger, who attended Arizona.
#52 Darius James | Harker Heights HS | Killeen, TX | 6’5, 320 | Texas
The University of Texas is getting the number one center in the nation, and the number two ranked player in the state of Texas, according to the ESPN recruiting rankings. At 6’5, and 320 pounds, Darius James has incredible strength and great run blocking ability that is much needed for a Longhorn team that has a star running back in Johnathan Gray. James chose the Longhorns over several SEC contenders, LSU, Florida, and Texas A&M.
