GAINESVILLE, Fla. — After eight weeks of football, the FHSAA has once again updated the playoff point averages for all teams in all classifications.
Once again, some big changes have taken place across the board this week as some teams have entered the projected playoff picture while others have fallen out. In Classes 5A-8A, district record was taken into consideration except on certain exceptions which are noted.
For Class 3A, you will find a breakdown of point averages for each team in every region and a projected seeding (including tiebreakers) based upon the guidelines as published by the FHSAA (click here to view), as well as quick thoughts about each region.

PROJECTED REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS
BYES: No. 1 First Academy, No. 2 King’s Academy
No. 5 Melbourne Central Catholic at No. 4 Cardinal Newman
No. 6 Taylor (Pierson) at No. 3 Father Lopez
QUICK THOUGHTS: I think at this point we are seeing the teams that should make the bracket at this point other than Taylor (Pierson) and it that will all depend on how the rest of the season plays out between them and Holy Trinity. The only big change of note is that Cardinal Newman and Father Lopez swapped seeds this week.

No. 1 Cardinal Mooney
No. 2 Berkeley Prep
No. 3 Clearwater Central Catholic
No. 4 Lakeland Christian*
No. 5 Tampa Catholic
No. 6 Calvary Christian (Clearwater)
*Wins tiebreaker over Tampa Catholic with more CAT 2 wins (1-0).
PROJECTED REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS
BYES: No. 1 Cardinal Mooney, No. 2 Clearwater Central Catholic
No. 5 Tampa Catholic at No. 4 Lakeland Christian
No. 6 Calvary Christian (Clearwater) at No. 3 Clearwater Central Catholic
QUICK THOUGHTS: Well this week things have changed here as despite Clearwater Central Catholic remaining undefeated, they slip back to the No. 3 seed while Berkeley prep after a big win over Mitchell jumps to the No. 2 seed. However, keep in mind that Clearwater Central Catholic still has big games ahead with Jesuit and Cardinal Mooney that could change this seeding order even more. For now, except the final seed, we are seeing the teams that will make the playoffs in this region already here.

Somerset Silver Palms | 2-5 | 30.43 |
St. John Paul II (Boca Raton) | 0-6 | 28.83 |
PROJECTED SEEDS
No. 1 American Heritage (Delray)
No. 2 Chaminade-Madonna
No. 3 Benjamin
No. 4 Westminster Christian
No. 5 Palmer Trinity
No. 6 Marathon
PROJECTED REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS
BYES: No. 1 American Heritage (Delray), No. 2 Chaminade-Madonna
No. 5 Palmer Trinity at No. 4 Westminster Christian
No. 6 Marathon at No. 3 Benjamin
QUICK THOUGHTS: No big surprises here this week as the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds stay in the order with American Heritage (Delray) and Chaminade-Madonna. However, I am surprised they didn’t flip with American Heritage falling at Bishop Verot, but Bishop Verot’s success this season helps more than it hurts. Palmer Trinity and Westminster Christian swap seeds while Marathon bumps Westminster Academy out who lost week.
