QUICK THOUGHTS: Some shifts here this week with seeding at Mosley dropped a critical game with Pensacola that will have to be dealt with in a special situation in District 5A-1 with the FHSAA as some district games are unlikely to be made up at this point. However, Both Trinity Christian and Godby are playoff locks and are guaranteed a top-four seed. Right now, the teams that are on the outside looking in, but have a shot still include Ponte Vedra and Suwannee. The next two weeks will be critical for all the teams as they work for playoff positioning in this region.

QUICK THOUGHTS: Zephyrhills and North Marion remain the top two seeds in the region right now and both have locked their playoff spot in with district championships, while Baker County also locked in a spot last week with a win over Clay. District 5A-7 is the only that remains to be seen, but Nature Coast could lock that up with a win over Hernando this week. With Menendez’s loss to Ridgeview last week, it dropped them from the No. 6 seed to the No. 8 seed with Eastside rising up to the No. 7 seed and Hernando to the No. 6 seed. Teams like Orange Park and River Ridge still have a chance depending on what the next two weeks bring.

No. 5 Booker at No. 4 Tarpon Springs
No. 6 Jefferson at No. 3 Dunbar
No. 7 Immokalee at No. 2 Jesuit
QUICK THOUGHTS: Things are still a mess in this region this week, however, Gibbs is no longer a district champion after forfeiting games including a district win over Tarpon Springs. However, along with Jesuit, Dunbar has secured their playoff berth by clinching their district last week. But there is a lot of shifts here with DeSoto County falling to the No. 8 seed while Booker and Jefferson rise to the No. 5 and No. 6 seeds respectively. Immokalee still hangs on with the No. 7 seed. However, things could still be in play for teams like Lakewood, Southeast and Cypress Lake who’s point averages are not totally far from DeSoto County’s average.

QUICK THOUGHTS: Nothing changes with the top eight seeds here except the order of seeds No. 6 through No. 8 with Space Coast falling from the No. 6 to the No. 8 seed while Bishop Moore rises up to the No. 6 seed with Merritt Island at the No. 7 seed. All the district champion spots are locked in for this region, the first of any of the Class 5A through Class 8A regions to do so. Teams that still have a chance to get into the playoffs include Hallandale, Palm Bay, and Coconut Creek depending on what the next two weeks of results bring.
