I don't want to start an argument. The ucf camp I attended we lost 2 games. One to Columbia and one to a Miami team. We played Columbia 5 times that camp. But that was a couple years ago and mainland was not present. I am no longer with the program and can't speak for anything recent. We played mainland twice in my tenure during the regular season. They beat us by 3 at their place when we gave up a 70 td pass with like 20 sec left and at our place we were down 21-17 with a couple minutes left trying to drive and threw a pic six that sealed it for them.

Last years and this years schedule was a direct result of the schedules from 13,14. They were daunting and we got dinged up and battered a bit while we saw the teams in our district playing winless teams and getting their 3's and 4's in the game. I ultimately thought our SOS helped us the first three years I was there when we went to the 3rd round each year. But lately I don't think anything will help until you can change the culture and attitude of many of the kids. Talents is great but if you can't reach them or motivate them then it's a waste.

Precisely right. It is an epidemic on the treasure coast that needs to be fixed. The "good teams" play weak schedules and the "bad teams" either get waxed or beat someone unheard of

At the end of the day if it bothers you so much create your own poll. Which will be as accurate as just about any other, because they are all opinion. The computer polls at least have the opportunity to calculate out a scale by the end of the season. But a ranking don't mean spit without a championship. I'd rather be unranked alllllll day and win my district over being #1 in some bs poll and getting beat in the last week

It's very difficult to retain coaches in St lucie county like I'm sure it is in other areas of the state. But when there are no planning periods, $800 stipends for the year, and all coaches being asked to teach eoc/AP tested courses most choose to leave. The issue in '14 was breaking in a new qb against a daunting schedule. Last year was my last and what drove me out of coaching for the time being. Too much "star" power and players concerned with their own well being and not that of the team. I like coach helmrich, he asked me to stay on staff but I just couldn't do it again. I hope he can get it back to where we had it going. I'm not sure with the rezoning how effective this will be. He loses out to Westwood for the neighborhoods of most of fort pierce's athletes. We will see however with the new rules coming into effect. Great guy, hope the best for him, but now I'm just a fan of good football. It seems to be harder to find around here these days.

I used to work at FPC. I've since retired from coaching at least for now so I just enjoy going to different games on Friday. To their credit at VB in the 5 years I coached at FPC we won our 5 playoff games all at home. Lost to the state champs in '11 manatee by 3 at their place. Lost to the the next year when they weren't champs by 51 at home. Finally beat them the next year only to lose to plant by a few at home. Then bounced by a td at manatee again the 4th year in the first round. I think people in our area don't realize the gap between us and other more productive areas. Respect coach J and the Indians tremendously. I'm 2-3 against them, blowing leads twice to lose. They make great adjustments and get a lot out of their kids. The treasure coast however doesn't compare to many areas of the state. I'm am like you all I'd like to see coach J step up the SOS and maybe help them better prepare for the postseason.

To add to floridatech's point they are 49-8 in the last 6 years with three playoff wins all at home.

I suppose that's fair. Although if BTW was in any other class I think we'd be counting bolles in this. But you know what they say about if. Because at the same time it can be argued cocoa would take it to bolles had btw not.

You must have tough criteria if a team with 10 finals appearances in 14 years is just a regional power.
